Face it. It’s going to be a long year for Rajon Rondo IF he stays in Boston as the Celtics are in full rebuilding mode now. So the big question is, “Will Rondo remain in Boston?”. Maybe not. Even though the Pistons shipped off Brandon Knight for Brandon Jennings, there are some that think that Rondo may be the ultimate prize for the Pistons.

"Not so fast, at least according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe. He suggested in Sunday’s paper that the Jennings deal doesn’t close the door on Detroit pursuing Celtics All-Star Rajon Rondo. Washburn: “In fact, they could eventually use Jennings as a trade chip and seek to acquire Rondo. There are going to be several interested parties in Rondo, and that number could increase when he shows he’s fully recovered from anterior cruciate ligament surgery.” Now, once the Jennings deal goes through, the Pistons won’t be able to deal him until mid December. But his new deal is considered manageable in many NBA circles. As for Rondo, he did suffer a torn ACL in January, and since many think the Celtics are in “tank mode” for a high draft pick next summer, this could give the Pistons time to see if Rondo is recovered around the time snow is on the ground."

Many UK fans were disappointed when Knight was traded from the Pistons but hopefully things work out for him in Milwaukee. Bucks GM John Hammond seems to be a fan.

"Brandon Jennings is off to Detroit after Tuesday’s sign-and-trade deal, with another Brandon taking his place in the Bucks backcourt. “He still has tremendous growth ahead after two solid years in the NBA,” Hammond said of the 21-year-old Knight. “He’s a future building block to the organization because of the kind of player and person he is.” The 6-foot-3 Knight has averaged 13.1 points and 3.9 assists while shooting 37.3% from beyond the three-point arc in his first two pro seasons. He has started 135 games in 141 appearances. “Let’s make it perfectly clear. He’s a starting point guard in the NBA,” Hammond said."

Face it. We are a nation of dog lovers. And a Big Blue Nation of dog lovers. But what happens if you name your dog “Pitino”? Or worse, “Billy G”?

"In 2001, not long after Pitino had been fired by Boston, the coach became the head man at Louisville. Suddenly, Tim Perri, lifelong Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan, had a pet named for the head coach at UK’s archrival. “I hated it,” Perri said. What do you do when you’ve named your beloved pet for a Kentucky Wildcats athletics figure — a Pitino, a Billy Gillispie or a Joker Phillips — only to see that person exiled from the Big Blue Nation?"

Ah, see you have to read the story to find out.  But I can definitely relate.  Living in Florida, I had a neighbor who named his dog “Tebow”, so everyday I had to hear him yelling at that dog all daqy long.  My sanity was saved when the guy moved, but you get the picture ….
