6. Louisville Fans Prove They are Just as Crazy as Some Kentucky Fans

Remember last season after Kentucky won the national title? Of course you do, how could you not? Fans stormed the streets of Lexington to set couches on fire, drank, tip over cars, drank some more, and took part in all manner of reckless behavior. I didn’t like it, you didn’t like, but we accepted it as normal moronic fan activity and moved on.

But Louisville fans stuck their noses in the air and declared that they were nothing like the hillbilly Kentucky fans. In fact, if they ever won the national title in basketball, not one couch would be burned.

Well, that turned out to be a big fat lie.

After the Cards cut the nets, Cardnation rushed into the city and unleashed havoc. Here is an example:

"Hundreds streamed onto Cardinal Boulevard after Louisville’s win, screaming, dancing and lighting off small fireworks in revelry that lasted into the early hours. But things got out of hand as the celebration was winding down early Tuesday, with police in riot gear and an armored car arriving after large, unruly crowds refused to disperse. Several scuffles followed and some partiers threw bottles at police, hitting an officer in the head, said police spokeswoman Carey Klain. The officer received minor injuries and was treated at a hospital and released, Klain said. Police responded to the bottle throwers with pepper spray."

And yes friends, couches were burned.

6. Big Brother Steals the Spotlight. Again.

The Cards were the kings of college basketball for all of about 15 seconds until the national media turned their attention back to where it belongs: on the Kentucky Wildcats. All of the preseason polls were released and they all had Kentucky as the number one team for 2013/2014. Immediately the talking heads were all about the incoming talent and the returning talent at Kentucky, and asking if this could be one of the greatest college basketball teams of all time.

The poor Cards were even compared to last year’s Kentucky’s team in an absurdly stupid poll conducted by CBS.com that asked which team was better: the 2012 ‘Cats or the 2013 Cards? Last time I checked, the 2012 ‘Cats were blasting the 2013 Cards 63% to 37%. Of course they were. That Kentucky team beat the nucleus of that Louisville twice that year. Again, it was a stupid poll.

But it just goes to show that even in their moment of triumph, Little Brother is always in the shadow of Big Brother.

7. Papa John Had Himself a Time

The man with his name on the Louisville football stadium was at the game. And he had a good time. Some may say he had too good of a time. #ClassyCard

8. Louisville Fan Taunts Kentucky. Nationally Recognized as Worst Decision Ever.

Kentucky walk-on Tod Latner tweeted this interesting piece of knowledge on his way to class on Tuesday morning:

"There is seriously some dude parked by the lodge, standing outside of his car in all black and red waving a Louisville flag."

Um….yeah. Pretty stupid. Especially considering that the returning players saw you, will tell the incoming players, and all of them will remember that when Louisville comes to Rupp Arena next season. Besides, it’s their third title. Ever. Kentucky has eight of them. The number of fails on this list is no coincidence.

And there you have it. Some epic fails right after their crowning achievement. But what can we honestly expect from a program that hasn’t done this in 27 years. The phrase “Act Like You’ve been There” really doesn’t apply to them.

All in good fun Louisville fans. All in good fun.

Go Cats.
