8. Ole Miss Rebels (4-3, 1-2) Prior Rank #9- And the SEC Winless streak is over! It’d been 16 games but mercifully, Auburn is better than only Kentucky this year. All knotted up at 17 at the Half, Bo Wallace threw for 1 TD, ran for 2 and caught another one. He was a one man wrecking crew to Auburn’s dismal season. Wallace accounted for more individual yards (290) than Auburn (213). The D wasn’t spectacular but they didn’t need to be. You can bet next week’s game will be much tougher. Next Game at Arkansas: Saturday, October 27th @ TBA
9. Arkansas Razorbacks: (3-4, 2-2) Prior Rank #11- Tyler Wilson is the best QB in the SEC…or so we think. Granted he is putting up huge, HUGE numbers against Freshmen and Sophomores in UK’s Secondary, but still, 5 TD’s in the first half was ridiculous and Dennis Johnson is a TD machine with 2. It’s currently 49-7 and all the starters are still in. They’re like Spurrier reincarnated as a Hog. Smile John L.! SMILE! Because your seat just got a little bit cooler. Next Game: vs. Ole Miss: Saturday, October 27h @ TBA
10. Tennessee Volunteers: (3-3, 0-3) Prior Rank #8- Balance. Balance. Balance. In easily the worst game of Bray’s season, the running game was studly, gaining 213 yds on an incredibly balanced rushing attack. Tyler managed 2 TD’s and his INT was on a first half hail mary so it was insignificant but if they don’t strike a balance they won’t strike a bowl game. We never know week to week which TN we will get but we can rest assured they will be on Page 2 of this Power Ranking for the foreseeable future. Next Game: vs. Alabama: Saturday, October 20th @ TBA
11. Vanderbilt Commodores: (2-4, 1-3) Prior Rank #10- They are who we thought they were before we saw who they are. Maybe. They played Florida tough for a Quarter but this is Vandy and they are Florida. When your D gives up 177 yards rushing to a QB, it’s inexcusable. Jordan Matthews was their lone bright spot going for 8-131 and a TD. If a productive running game ever emerges, and their D decides to resemble D, then they may be bowl game material. Unfortunately this will not be a repeat of last year. Next Game: vs. Auburn: Saturday, October 20th @ 12:21 PM
12. Missouri Tigers: (3-4, 0-4) Prior Rank #12- Gary Pinkel’s spread O hasn’t come close to making a mark against SEC opponents and to try it against Bama was laughable. The ONLY bright spot was the KO TD by Marcus Murphy. The O Line couldn’t withstand the NFL size D Line that Bama boasts and their QB, Corbin Berkstresser was picked twice. Those two throws could have been TD’s for what it mattered. Missouri must adjust their O if they have any chance of winning an SEC game. But the real tragedy is that they gave up 6 rushing TD’s to a pair of 100+ yd rushers. Horrible. Thankfully, their next game could be that W they so desperately need. Next Game: vs. Vanderbilt: Saturday, October 20h @ 7:00 PM
13. Auburn Tigers: (1-5, 0-4) Prior Rank #13- Boy Cam Newton was unstoppable wasn’t he? Oh wait, my bad. Wrong season. It’s funny how the best player in a decade can cover up the shortcomings of a coach. I’m not sure if Chizik is that poor of a coach or they don’t have the players to compete but their QB play is mediocre at best, as is their running game, though Tre Mason accounted for both TD’s. Gene better thank his lucky stars UK is in the SEC or they’d occupy the last spot.Next Game at Vanderbilt: Saturday, October 20th @ 12:21 PM
14. Kentucky Wildcats: (1-6, 0-4) Prior Rank #14- I’m not lying when I say that I’m writing this with 1.5 quarters left. When Whitlow is pulled in FAVOR of Morgan Newton, it’s bad. Now this is not a knock on Whitlow as he is a true freshman and at this point has accounted for our only score with a 61 yd TD pass to LaRod King, but our D is giving up everything. Tyler Wilson is taking advantage of our incredibly young secondary. I don’t know where they go from here. If I could give them a negative ranking, I would. Thankfully the game was called due to weather and ended up as a final score of 49-7Next Game: vs. Georgia: Saturday, October 20th @ 7:00 PM
