Lots of banged up Cats today.  Cody Quinn gets the start over Cartier Rice and there is word we may see some Morgan Newton.

FIRST QUARTER

Kentucky wins the toss.  The will kick off and get the ball after half

GATOR BALL

Kick off was out of bounds and Gators take over at own 35 and a penalty puts the ball at 40.  Rough start but Kentucky forces a three and out on opening drive.

KENTUCKY BALL

It is Morgan Newton to start and he hits anice gain on the first down.  Raymond Sanders with a nice run to Florida 40. Cats drive into no mans land and Newton throws an incomplete pass to Ronnie Shields on 4th and 3.

FLORIDA BALL

Nothing going for the Gators on this drive. Gillislee is stuff and then Simpson tips the next pass and almost has a pick. Driskel worced out of pocket an incompletion. Cats get ball at 8

KENTUCKY BALL

Kentucky starts deep in own territory but Jonathan George has a nice second down run to bring up a 3rd and 3. Sander is stopped at line of scrimmage but bounces off defenders for a first down. Nothing going for rest of drive as Kentucky gains just 2 yards on next three plays. A Kentucky penalty pushes the ball back firther. Foster with a punt to UF 42.

GATORS BALL

Gators forced Kentucky back to reality. Driskel with a fake and took ball down to the UK 20. Personal foul by Lowery made is 1st and goal from the 10. Gillislee has a 6 yard first down run and then Driskel threw incomplete pass in endzone to force 3rd and 4. A false start penalty made it 3rd and 9. Driskel fumbled the snap and Christian Coleman wrapped him up to forge a FG attempt. Sturgis boots the gimme FG and UF takes a 3-0 lead with 5:18 left in first.

KENTUCKY BALL

Morgan Newton looked deep for DeMarcus Sweat but overthrew him on first down and followed that that with an incomplete to King that was tipped. Jonathan George runs 12 yards to convert a 3rd and 10Raynond Sanders almost broke a long run but was tripped up for a 12 yard run for another UK first down. A couple of runs by Sanders and George get nothing and UK has a 3rd and 7 near midfield. Newton hits LaRod King for a 8 yard play. George and Sanders gain two yards each on next two runs. Newton goes for a deep pass but it is broken up. Kentucky, faced with a 4th and 6, goes for a long FG from the 37. McIntosh misses it and Gators still lead 3-0.

GATOR BALL

Forced to scramble, Driskel has a 9 yard completion to start. Alvin Dupree gets to Driskel for a 6 yard sack forcing a 3rd and 7. Driskel reponds with big completion to Hammond over the middle for a 24 yard gain. Gillislee gets 5 yards to make it 2nd and 5 from the UK 31 as time expires in the first.

SECOND QUARTER

GATOR DRIVE CONTINUES

Gillislee picks up the first down with a gain of 6.  Gillislee knives his way through the Kentucky defense for a 10 yard gain.  Gators have 1st and 10 from 14.  More Gilislee as he gets it down to the 11.  Neloms and Dupree stop Gilislee after another 4 yard gain.  Driskell passes to the 1 yard line for a 1st and goal.  Gilislee takes it in for the TD.  Gators are up 10-0 with 12:04 left in the 2nd.

KENTUCKY BALL

Newton has a 9 yard run on  first down.  Kentucky catchs UF offsides and George has a 4 yard run.  George stuffed for loss of 1 to force 3rd and 7.  Newton throws off balance and it is intercepted and returned to UK 23.

FLORIDA BALL

Gators keep the ball on the ground but UK gets a break as penalty forces a 1st and 15 from UK 28.  Another Gator penaly forces the ball back into a 1st and 24.  Neloms with an interception in the endzone.

KENTUCKY BALL

George picks up 5 on first down and then Newton overthrows a wide open Collins.  Newton throws ball right at Gator defender chest and its a pick six.  Gators now lead 17-0.  Kentucky really imploding on offense after a nice first quarter.

KENTUCKY BALL

Sturgiss kick goes out of bounds.  Newton still in at QB has an incompletion and Sanders gains 5.  Newton double and triple pumps and throws incompletion at Kings feet.  McIntosh misses a 46 yard FG and the name of the game is missed opportunities for the Kentucky offense so far.

FLORIDA BALL

Driskel complets a 50 yard pass on a sleeping Dakotah Tyler.  If Tyler had turned around he could have made a play on the ball. Sad part is that this was on a 3rd and 14 and Driskel under heavy pressure.   Kentucky forces a 3rd and 9 from their own 22.  Sturgis missed a 39 yard FG.

KENTUCKY BALL

More of the same from UK offense.  A Newton incompletion, Mobley gets stuffed on a run and a run up the middle.

FLORIDA BALL:

Gators get a short run by Driskel, and a keeper by Driskel to have 3rd and 5  Driskel hits Reed on a big pass to the UK 34 and Mikie Benton called for personal foul on big hit.  Driskels pass in the end zone almost intercepted.  Gators respond with a 19 yard TD pass to Dunbar.  24-0  UF

KENTUCKY BALL

Just when you think it ccan get no worse on offense, Newton throws 3rd pick of game.  WITH :16 left.

FLORIDA BALL:

Gators can’t convert.  24-0 halftime score

THIRD QUARTER

KENTUCKY BALL:

Newton still in, despite rumors of a QB change.  Jonathan George gets 12 yards on first two runs.  Newton runs for no gain.  George wrapped up for a two yard gain.  EJ Fields with a false start penalty and a newton screen pass to King loses one and brings up a 4th and 14.

FLORIDA BALL:

Florida goes with a heavy dose of Gillislee as they are content to grind the ball out.  The defensive play actually puts a lot of pressure on Driskel this drive but he is splendid on the run and finds wide open receivers.  Driskel actually looks to be a better passer when scrambling for his life rather than sitting in the pocket.  Lots of breakdowns in Kentucky’s defensive breakdowns as Driskel is finding wide open receivers for chunks of yardage while under pressure.  Driskel shows off his prowess with his feet as he gets the ball to the UK 1 yard line.  Driskel takes the ball in for the TD.  UF 31  Kentucky 0  Mercifully that play took 9:00 plus

KENTUCKY BALL

Ranmond Sanders gets 6 on the first yard play and Newton takes the snap and gains 2.  Sanders takes the pitch and is a yard short of the first down.

FLORIDA BALL

Brown carries a couple of times as the clock runs out in the 3rd.  Both teams seem content to end this game as quickly as possible.  Gators have the ball 1st and 10 at their own 41

FOURTH QUARTER

FLORIDA DRIVE continued

Driskel is sacked and then completes a 1 yard pass to bring up 3rd and 18.  Brown gains 10 but Gators have to punt.

KENTUCKY BALL

Jalen Whitlow in at QB.  George for 3.  Whitlow with an incompletion to Sweat.  Whitlow overthrows George.  Another 3 and out

FLORIDA BALL

When it rains, it pours.  Bad kick by Foster out of the endzone gives UF the ball at UK 37.  Jacoby Brissett in at QB for UF.  Does not matter who is in right now.  Florida is just running the ball at will and picking up 4-5 yards a carry.  Kentucky D very disinterested in this game.  Brisset scores on a short run.  38-0 UF with 6:47 left.  Lets see if Whitlow can get some good reps in.

KENTUCKY BALL

Witlow hits Legree for a 12 yard gain.  Mobley for a 8 yard gain.  Mobley breaks a couple of tackles and has a nice gain.  He is running hard on that 13 yard gain.  Kentucky has three completions to have to punt.

Look guys, thanks for reading along and keeping me company but I am going to get ready for post game press conference.  Hopefull we have another result this week.  Go Cats.
