WKU Drive at WKU-25 with 0:21 left

Kawaun Jakes would throw deep for Willie McNeal, but Ashley Lowry came in to dislodge the ball at the UK -25 for an incomplete pass, and WKU opted for a running play on the next down to run the clock out and send the game into overtime.

UK Drive at UK-23 with 2:14 left

Smith opened the drive with a 9-yard pass to Robinson, and two plays later, George would pick up the first-down on a 2-yard run. The Cats continued to dink-and-dunk it to try and set WKU up for the big play, but it wasn’t coming, and on 3rd-and-2, Smith hit George for a 4-yard gain and a first-down. A deep bomb to a EJ Fields drew a pass-interference penalty and moved the ball down to the WKU-38. Smith would again go for the deep-throw to Daryl Collins who had a step on his defender, but was unable to haul in the over-the-shoulder grab, but bounced back on the next play for a 16-yard gain. Smith would then hit Sweat on the next play at the 5-yard line, and then broke two WKU tackles to drive into the endzone to tie the game at 24-all.

WKU Drive at WKU-20 with 5:24 left

After giving up one first down, the Cats were able to stop Kawaun Jakes on a QB scramble just short of the first-down, and the Cats would get one last chance to save their season, and likely the job of Joker Phillips.

UK Drive at UK-21 with 9:31 left

The Cats would drive to the WKU-35, but Smith would miss an open Gene McCaskil running up the seam that could have been the game-tying TD, and would be sacked the next play and UK was forced to punt with 5:30 remaining.

WKU Drive at WKU-35 with 13:50 left

After failing to pick up the first-down in three plays, WKU went for it on 4th-and-1, and Antonio Andrews powered through for a first-down. WKU would again face a 4th-and-2 at the UK-47, but opted this time to punt, and UK got the ball at the UK-21.

UK Drive at UK-35 with 1:20 left in third-quarter

Max Smith would hit Tyler Robinson on a 20-yard pass on the first play with a defender draped all over him. Smith would later throw his fourth INT of the night, but Jonathan Dowling fumbled the ball and UK’s Darrian Miller recovered the ball to keep the UK drive alive. The Cats would later face a 4th-and-7, but Smith’s pass attempt to King would faa incomplete, and WKU took over on downs.
