2009 – Likely the easiest team to determine, the 2009 squad was John Wall’s. Wall was the #1 overall prospect in his class and one of the best seen for years. From the 5th game in the season at the Cancun Classic’s Championship game, where Wall hit a fade away jumper with 30.6 seconds, then followed it with two free throws with 2.4 seconds, single handedly sending the group of freshmen towards an OT win, the team and role was his. Wall not only took over games, but when he did, everyone knew it. When Kentucky found themselves on the wrong side of the score late in a game, you came to expect the “John Wall moment”, where he just imposed his will offensively and defensively.
