2007 – As a highly recruited freshmen, Patrick Patterson came marketed to Kentucky fans as the best export from West Virginia since Hill Billy Tea. During his first year at Kentucky, Patterson was second on the team in scoring, but first in rebounds and the hearts of fans and coaches. His will and drive inspired others on the team to work harder and improve, especially after the season ending left ankle fracture as fans and players watched the face of Patterson in agony not from the pain of his injury but not being able to play.
