2005 – Rajon Rondo was never known for his jump shot, but he certainly had a flare for the dramatic. Rondo nailed a fade away jumper from the elbow with 1.5 seconds left sent Kentucky to a 59-57 win and saved the Cats from an home loss. A mere 18 days later, Rondo buried a long three over Tarence Kinsey to push Kentucky to an 80-78 victory over South Carolina. Having “never made a game winning shot”, he claimed the role of leader and held on to it for the rest of the season.
