GREEN BAY PACKERS
RANDALL COBB – WR
TIM MASTHAY – P

Consider Green Bay the Denver of the NFC as two former Wildcats start for the Packers. Randall Cobb has been tabbed as one of the breakout players for the NFL this year and will be following up on his outstanding rookie season. Cobb made his impact known in week one for the Packers with a kick return 108 yards for a TD and catching a TD reception. Unfortunately, Cobb got lost with all the other Packer weapons at WR and finished with 25 catches for 375 yards and a TD. He did have 2 return TD’s and racked up 1236 yards in return yardage. As of now, Cobb has Greg Jennings and James Jones ahead of him on the WR depth chart, but he is an injury away from putting up very respectable numbers.  There have been heavy rumors for a while that WR James Jones may end up in Miami and reunited with Joe Philbin and it seemed that Miami would trade Matt Moore for Jones.  Now that the Dolphins released David Garrard, Moore is not going anywhere, but if Miami can get Jones somehow, that is good news for Cobb.

Tim Masthay has emerged as one of the top punters in the NFL with a 45.6% punting average and pinned his opponents within their 20 41.6% of the time. Tim just signed a five year, $6,005,000 contract.

MIAMI DOLPHINS
CHANDLER BURDEN – OG

After starting camp with Tennessee, Burden found his way to Miami but was cut.  He did find a place on the Dolphins practice squad a few days ago though.

NEW YORK JETS
JOHN CONNER – FB

The Terminator is listed as the New York Jet’s starting FB, but according to some reports almost did not make the team.  That had nothing to do with Conner, but due the diminishing role of the FB in football.  The Jets were considering using TE Josh Baker as a fulloback and also being able to carry an extra  TE on the roster.  Apparently saner heads prevailed as the Jets are expected to run the ball a good bit. But then again, is anything the Jets or Rex Ryan a shock?  .

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
MYRON PRYOR – DT

Pryor started out last season like a man on fire, but was placed on the IR due to a shoulder injury after just two games. At the time of the injury, Pryor was a key backup for the Pats.  I looks as if that injury will derail Pryor a bit more as he has been placed on the reserve/PUP list which will keep him out of action for at least the first six weeks, maybe more.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
WINSTON GUY – DB

From all indications, the Seahawks really like Guy and have signed him to a 4 year, $2,210,060 deal.  We have heard good things from Seattle about Guy amd for now he has earned the  backup SS position behind Kam Chancellor.
