RECRUITING
Recruiting is the lifeblood of any basketball program and these coaches are some of their best at their job. Here is the grading scale I used to rate the coaches:
#1 RANKED CLASS – 5 POINTS
TOP 5 CLASS – 4 POINTS
TOP 10 CLASS – 3 POINTS
TOP 25 CLASS -1 POINTS
I used the class rankings from Rivals from 2008-12 as Rivals is generally considered the most accurate rating and they were one of the few that went back five years. To be fair, I added a bonus of 5 points to a coach if they had a Top #25 Class every single year. The purpose was to reward the coaches that were consistent and I did not think that one coach having a top 10 class was equal to a coach having three top 25 classes, so hopefully this will balance things out. All coaches have had five years in BCS conferences, except John Calipari, who had one year counted with Memphis in the CUSA. That said, a perfect score is 30 points in this category. Let’s see how our coaches fared:
