1.) Hornets – PF Anthony Davis 6-11, 222lb – Kentucky
I don’t really have to explain this pick. Anthony already did it during basketball season
2.)Bobcats – PF Thomas Robinson 6-9, 244lb – Kansas
Clearly the second best player in this draft. Clearly the best player in this draft when it comes to dedication and hard work. Robinson just gets at it. Too bad he will second again to Davis. First in championship now draft, but a very good player.
3.) Wizards –SG Bradley Beal 6-4, 204lb – Florida
With that big “block buster” trade with Washington and New Orleans, the Wizards would be loaded Small Forwards, so when people thought that the Wizards would MKG here that has changed, and the Wizards will no doubt take Beal at this pick.
4.) Cavs –SF Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 6-7, 233lb – Kentucky
11.) Trailblazers –C Meyers Leonard 7-1, 250lb – Illinois
Well… Greg Oden didn’t work out like the Trailblazers had hoped. Enter Meyers Leonard. The 7-1 Center is my first center to go in this draft, even over Tyler Zeller, because of sheer potential and upside. This kid just oozes with upside. He is probably in the top 3 or 4 when it comes to potential in this draft.
12.) Bucks –C Tyler Zeller 7-0, 247lb – UNC
The Bucks could surprise some people next year. They have an extremely athletic PG in Brandon Jennings and Andre Bogot down low, Tyler Zeller would be a great fit for Milwaukee
13.) Suns –PF Arnet Moultrie 6-11, 233lb – Mississippi State
Believe it or not, Moultrie led the SEC in rebounding over the National Player of the year, freshman of the year and defensive player of the Year in Anthony Davis. Moultrie just gets at it on the defensive side and rebounds very well. Good pick for Phoenix.
14.) Rockets –PG Damion Lillard 6-3, 189lb – Weber St
Hearing about the controversy about Kyle Lowery possibly leaving Houston and leaving Houston without a tested point guard, the Rockets can not let Damion Lillard pass them up here even though they have another pick 2 picks after this one, for fear that someone might try and trade Philly for him. Lillard is a steal here.
15.) 76ers –SG Austin Rivers 6-4, 203lb – Duke
The 76ers could use some depth at the SG position, because Jodie can’t do it by himself coach! After all, it’s not the Philadelphia Jodie Meeks. Rivers is a great athlete and could really help Philly with his skills.
16.) Rockets –PF Perry Jones 6-11, 234lb – Baylor
Boy oh boy do the Rockets need some length and size down low. Perry Jones would provide that and much more. He tends to “quit” sometimes or give up in key moments. But then when you turn your head on him, he could go off for 40pts and 20 rebounds. He is a really good pick up here for Houston.
17.) Mavs – SG Jeremy Lamb 6-5, 179lb – UConn
The Mavs are one of the oldest teams on average, and Jason Terry is one of the reasons why. Jeremy Lamb would provide Dallas with size, versatility, youth and athleticism. Although Doron Lamb is still my favorite “Lamb” in this draft, Jeremy is the better pick at this point.
T R A D E
18.) Twolves –> Rockets – SF Moe Harkless 6-8, 207lb – St Johns
Twovles trade this pick to Houston Rockets for Chase Budinger –
Since the Rockets traded away Chase Budinger, aand I have them taking Perry Jones already I thought about changing the picks around, but with Houston’s rosters I still think that Harkless will be drafted right here. Houston could definitely use a player like Harkless. He has impressed everyone at the combine.
19.) Magic –PF Jared Sullinger 6-9, 268lb – OSU
I had originally put Sullinger higher, but with the doctors saying there might be a red flag with his back, I decided it would be safe to move him down, fearing some NBA front office people might take that into account. With that said, he is still a phenomenal player and with Howard most likely leaving the Magic, they would definitely need a big man.
20.) Nuggets – PG Tony Wrotten 6-6, 203lb – Washington
Coming out of high school, Wroten was a freakish athlete with freakish passing abilities. Guess what? Nothing has changed. He will have a very long career in the NBA and getting to play with Ty Lawson is
a blessing in disguise for not only Wroten but Denver as well.
21.) Celtics – SG Terrence Ross 6-7, 197lb – Washington
High school teammates with Terrence Jones, college teammates with Tony Wroten, yeah, this guy knows how to play with talent around him. He too, is a talent to be reckoned with. He is one of the best finishers and dunkers in this draft.
22.) Celtics – C Fab Melo 7-0, 255lb – Syracuse
Let’s get real. Kevin Garnet next won’t be walking through that door for Boston. Celtics need an inside presence and they needs one very bad. Fab Melo will more than ease the pressure they Celtics feel down low now.
23.) Hawks – SG Jon Jenkins 6-4, 212lb Vanderbilt
If you give Jon Jenkins 100 tries to make a three will make 85 of those. He is a dynamite shooter from deep. If healthy and has a long career he could be looking at chasing Ray Allen’s 3 point record, so watch out.
24.) Cavs –PF Royce White 6-8, 261 lb – Iowa St.
I really like Royce White. If I were to predict, which I’m about to do, I would say that he could be a top 3 most impact-ful players through a career from this draft. The only thing that could hold hm back would be his problems with his anxiety problem. But anyone with his size and ability to handle the ball, you’re looking at something special here.
25.) Grizzlies –SF Jeff Taylor 6-7, 213lb – Vanderbilt
Memphis is one of the youngest teams in the league in the league. Jeff Taylor played 4 years in college so it’s not like he is a true rookie coming into the league. He will add good depth to their wing.
26.) Pacers – PG Marquis Teague 6-2, 189lb – Kentucky
Why not? Marquis Teague is from Indiana. Grew up as a Pacers fan. Pacers need a PG. I can not see Teague slipping past the team that calls Bankers Life Field-house their home.
27.) Heat – PG Tyshawn Taylor 6-3, 180lb – Kansas
Some people have Taylor going much later. He is way better than people give him credit for. He is very strong and can finish at the rim because of his strength. Now I do feel the Heat could take Quincy Miller here, but my gut feeling would be Tyshawn Taylor.
28.) Thunder – PF Andrew Nichalson 6-10, 234lb – St Bonaventure
As evident in the Finals loss to the Heat, they really struggled in the paint. They absolutely have to take this guy if he is still here. No if’s and’s or but’s about it.
29.)Bulls –SG Doron Lamb 6-4, 199lb – Kentucky
I couldn’t think of a better place for Doron Lamb to flock to. Doron could be the future for the Bulls at the SG position and can even help take the load off Rose at the Point Guard position. He would be backing up Richard Hamilton, but Hamilton won’t be playing for much longer, so Lamb will be the guy they rely on.
30.) Warriors – SG Evan Fournier France 6-6, 190lb
Don’t know much about him but I honestly feel this is where he will land.
