Now that the 2012 class is nearly wrapped up, we can look to who may be the top prize(s) for UK in the 2012 class. Andrew Harrison is the nation’s top point guard and is viewed by some as the top player in the 2013 class. He’ll quickly fill the role of star John Calipari point guard, as he’ll be one of the top players in college basketball, as well as being a top-10 NBA Draft pick after one year in college.

Like his brother, Aaron, he has great ball-handling skills and is an excellent driver, which means he will thrive in John Calipari’s dribble drive offense.  He plays very aggressively and isn’t afraid of contact while driving to the rim. He’s as good a rebounding guard as there is in the 2013 class, and at 6’5″, he has the size and speed to guard a multitude of positions on defense. Versatility is one of the key attributes that Calipari looks for in all of his players, and Andrew is arguably the most versatile player in the 2013 class. He can post up, knock down threes, and find the open man as good as any player in the 2013 class, and he may be one of the most complete players in college basketball his freshman year.

Andrew has Kentucky, Baylor, Villanova, and Maryland in his top 4. He and his brother are likely to commit to the same school, and they both have already  visited UK in their sophomore year, and then again for Big Blue Madness before their junior season. UK is viewed as the favorite to land both players.
