1. Tonya Knight alleges assault and discrimination aginst hotel

In a story that can only be described as bizarre, Tonya Knight, the mother of former Kentucky guard Brandon Knight, is suing the Hyatt Regency hotel in Lexington, claiming that the hotel operations director Jeff Westin grabbed her by the arm and called her the “N Word” on January 7th. From what I gather, there seems to be some sour grapes between Knight and Westin as he would not let her sell her book Diary of a Basketball Mom in the hotel. This isn’t over by a long shot. 2. Kentucky’s Women move to 6-0 in the SEC

The sixth ranked Lady Cats blew by Auburn last night in a 66-48 laugher. The Wildcats are now 6th in the country and sit atop the SEC in the rankings. It’s a great time to be a basketball fan for the University of Kentucky, regardless of gender both teams are great.

3. IU Loses again on the Road

As we saw Louisville drop from the AP Top 25, it might now be time for the Hoosiers to make their exit. The #17 team in the land fell to 1-4 on the road after a 7 point loss at Wisconsin. I’m not sure how this team pulled off wins against Kentucky and Ohio State as they clearly are not very good. I’m sticking by the idea that the Cats played their worst game of the season and the Hoosiers hit a fluke three at the buzzer. We should be 21-0.

4. What awards will Anthony Davis receive?

A Sea of Blue has a list of links detailing the national attention that Anthony Davis is receiving. He is getting serious consideration for national player of the year, national freshman of the year and defensive player of the year. I honestly believe he should get the freshman and defensive awards and has a strong case for player of the year.

5. 2013 Small Forward Troy Williams cuts list to four

Five star recruit Troy Williams has a final cut of four teams and Kentucky makes the list. The other teams that he is considering are North Carolina, Georgetown and Villanova. He has already visited Kentucky multiple times and you have to like the chances of the Wildcats after already nabbing Derek Willis to get the ball rolling in 2013.
