Let me start this off by saying that I don’t hate all Louisville fans. As a matter of fact I have some very close friends of mine that cheer for the Cardinals. My own brother cheers for them and I don’t hate him in the least bit. We all get along quite well and can debate sports in a logical manner.
But this post is not for them. They are rational. This post is dedicated to the irrational individuals that still believe in their delusional minds that Louisville is better than Kentucky at basketball. This post is for the Louisville fans that are convinced that Louisville is indeed, “The Best College Sports Town in America”, as a sign by Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium professes.
This is for the Louisville fans that really think that sharing the conference football title with three other teams from the Big East is worth a damn. This is for the Louisville fans that made fun of Kentucky for going to the Music City Bowl but just treated the Belk Bowl like it was the national championship game. This is for the Louisville fans that thinks their football program is a national contender is worth a look from the AP voters.
This post is for this guy:
This post is for the Louisville basketball fans that act like their program belongs with Kentucky, North Carolina, Kansas, Duke and UCLA, and become livid when people tell them otherwise. This is for the fans that believe that two titles in the 1980’s really puts them in the talk with the heavyweights of the sport, despite that fact that the Cards haven’t done jack since then.
This is for the Louisville fans that absolutely detested Rick Pitino when he was at Kentucky. The fans that called him slimy, sleazy and a cheater. The same fans that ran Hall of Fame coach Denny Crum out-of-town just to get Pitino. The same fans that now treat him as if he is a god even though he has one Final Four and one Elite Eight to show for his ten years of hard work. And that whole Karen Sypher thing. That was a swell gift he gave to your program, wasn’t it?
This is for the Louisville fans that claim that Kentucky fans are overzealous and irrational, yet they are the ones that still cuss out kids on Twitter and on their blog sites for not attending their university.
This is for the Louisivlle fans that have jealousy issues and cannot come to terms with the fact that the success of your season hinges on one thing, and one thing only: that you beat Kentucky. The only thing that makes your little brother syndrome manageable is if you slay the giant every once in a while.
This is for the Louisville fans that compse and record songs like these.
This is for the Louisville fans that think that Peyton Siva is better than John Wall and Brandon Knight. The fans that think Gorgui Dieng is better than Anthony Davis and that Kyle Kuric will be able to match up against Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
This is for the Louisville fans that actually believed Chane Behanan when he said that the Cards will go undefeated in basketball this season.
Every fan base has irrational, stupid people in it. Yours just has more than usual and you ignore the fact that you have them in your ranks. In your eyes, you have the best, most loyal, perfect, pleasant fan base in the whole world. And that is why we so lovingly refer to you as Delusionville. Because you don’t live in reality.
Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.
See you at high noon in Lexington.
