Darius Miller could find his way back to the starting lineup tonight

After his 13 points off bench effort against Old Dominion, it looks like Darius Miller could find his way back into the starters lineup against Radford tonight.  John Calipari had this to say about the possibility:

“He may be starting.  The way he played last game I may put him in the starting lineup. Some guys went back to playing passive and they aren’t going to be on the floor. The first three minutes of the game Michael (Kidd-Gilchrist) wasn’t there, he didn’t play well. We have to keep looking as we go and we’ll figure it out.”

“The (Old Dominion) game got physical.  Terrence (Jones) didn’t play through bumps, Michael (Kidd-Gilchrist) didn’t play through the bumps. The only guy that played through the bumps was Darius (Miller) and he got the ball wherever he wanted on the court.
He’s been there (and) he’s done it on the national stage while these other guys are still learning.”

I am assuming that there eventually be a NBA Draft once again and when it happens, Kentucky’s Anthony Davis will probably be the first player picked.  Seems that after just four games, NBA pundits have soured on Andre Drummond as the top pick and have tabbed Anthony Davis as the future savior of a NBA franchise:

Kentucky’s Anthony Davis (Top 100 Rank: 1) continues to wow. His 14-point, six-rebound, seven-block performance against Kansas at MSG not only solidified his hold on the No. 1 spot on our Big Board — a number of NBA scouts feel like there’s a pretty big gap between Davis and whoever ends up being the No. 2 guy.

“Davis is the only person in this draft who I’m sure can change a franchise,” one scout said. “I thought Andre Drummond may have also been … but Davis is the only sure thing to me. He has such a unique game. He’ll be a great pro.”

Kentucky plays Radford at 7:00PM tonight and you can check out Anthony Davis and his soon to be number one draft greatness.  Until then, check out these clips of Anthony Davis and Kyle  Wiltjer discussing tonight’s game:

As I write this, I am hearing a lot of rumors and speculation that regardless of what happens on Saturday, Joker Phillips may not be back next year.  Obviously this is disheartening and I am not going to get into a debate over Joker’s merits as a head coach and if the decision is made, so be it.  But let’s let this play out after the season and not let it hang over senior day like a black cloud.  This group of seniors have provided a lot of cheers and memories for football fans.  Let’s let this last game of the year be about them  and not fans trying to arrange a boycott or whatever stupid buzz is out there.  Regardless of your feelings, do you really want Danny Trevathan and Winston Guy (or Stuart Hines … or any of the seniors) last memory be a lot of petty bickering over the coach?  Put it aside for a few more days, and get to Commonwealth and support this team.

I really am not a huge milestone person, but with Thanksgiving a day away, I will make it a combined post.  Today marks the two and a half year mark that I have been running this site and I want to take the time to thank all of the BBN and for the writers on my staff you have supported this site.  I really don’t know if I would do this again if I had a chance to go back two and a half years …. it has been more work than imagined.

Moments like last night made it all worthwhile when Cameron Mills took the time to appear on our podcast.  He actually talked to us for an hour and shared some amazing insight into the Kentucky basketball program.  I’d like to thank Cameron for taking the time and for all of the BBN for supporting this site.  The podcast will be up at 11:00AM so make sure you check back for that.  And I’d like to wish all of the BBN an early Happy Thanksgiving.
