Talk about SEC dominance. The top three teams in the BCS rankings all hail from the SEC. Not only do they hail from the SEC, but all three teams are from the SEC West. This leaves no doubt as to which is the best conference and division in the land.
Cats give it all but it’s not enough
The Kentucky Wildcats went on the road to Athens Georgia to face a red-hot Bulldog team that was a 32 point favorite of visiting UK. The Wildcat defense turned in their best performance of the year, holding the Bulldogs under 20 points for the first time all season long.
While the defense played lights out, the offense sputtered. Time after time the defense scored a takeaway only to watch the offense fail to score points. Danny Trevathan recorded 16 more tackles in an inspired game. The fact that he has been left off every major linebacker award list is a complete joke. He is the best in the country.
Now the Cats face Tennessee for the last game of the season and are 7 point dogs this week on Senior day. Let’s hope a good crowd shows up to send Trevathan and Winston Guy out the right way.
Cardinal Sin
The Louisville Cardinals won at UConn handily as I thought they would. As bad of a team that UofL has, they have the virtue of playing in a dog conference, leaving open the possibility of them getting into a BCS Bowl game if they win the Big East.
The Cards have to beat South Florida on the road in the final game of the season for that to happen and some other things need to occur, like Cincinnati and West Virginia bombing out their final two games. Somehow Louisville only has one Big East game left while Cincy and WVU each have two to go, so go figure that one.
What I find absolutely ridiculous is that Louisville lost to FIU and Marshall and they have a shot at a BCS game. It’s astounding that a team this bad even has a chance to play in a prestigious bowl game. The only consolation is that whoever they play will absolutely destroy them. But that won’t stop their fans from bragging about it.
SEC and all the Rest
Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Oregon all three lost in what was the best weekend of college football that I can remember. Those three teams all had hopes of facing off against LSU or Alabama in the BCS title game but it looks as if they blew their shot.
Oklahoma has two losses, Oregon has two losses and Oklahoma State has one loss but they still have to play the Sooners the final day of their season. The one thing about these teams that stands out to me is their utter lack of defense. All three teams have given up big points in one game or more all season long. Can you imagine what would happen to them against an SEC offense and against an SEC defense?
The SEC is the best, no questions asked. And that’s a fact.
BCS Top 10 Poll
It’s looking more and more likely that the Game of the Century Part 2 is going to happen. Unless Arkansas decides to ruin that party.
1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Arkansas
4. Oklahoma State
5. Virginia Tech
6. Stanford
7 Boise State
8. Houston
9. Oklahoma
10. Oregon
Conference count: SEC 3, Big 12 2, Pac 12 2, ACC 1, Conference USA 1, and Boise State.
NFL Note: Tim Tebow. That is all.
Picks
I was remarkable this week and went undefeated. I went 5-0, thanks to USC upsetting Oregon, which I called. I am 43-17 on the season. I wish I was doing better in the WBN college football pick ’em, but hey, you can’t win em all.
The Week to Come
Thanksgiving week is always a huge week for college football and for the NFL. Games run pretty much all week-long and there are some dandies this Holiday Season.
Arkansas will travel to Death Valley in order to try and mess up the BCS landscape even more. The Iron Bowl is upon us in what is the nastiest rivalry in all of sports. If you don’t believe me then watch the documentary from ESPN called Roll Tide/ War Eagle and then come talk to me. Those people are nuts.
In non-SEC games we have Texas and Texas A&M facing off for the last time in the Big 12, Notre Dame and Stanford, Oregon and Oregon State, Ohio State and Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Oh yeah, and Kentucky is going to break a little streak they have with Tennessee. Take that one to the bank.
It’s going to be a good week. See you at 4 PM.

A portion of his is NSFW but enjoy Lee Corso dropping the F bomb on live TV. The looks on the faces of his co-hosts are priceless. God Bless you Lee Corso. My favorite personality out of all of the TV sports individuals.
