Facts: Terrence Jones is an absolute Beast and the Wildcats will Contend for a Title

1. Terrence Jones Puts up 52

It’s hard to put up 52 points, regardless if nobody is playing defense on you. Terrence Jones did it in the Blue/White scrimmage last night and he did it with ease. He is unstoppable. Absolutely unstoppable. Afterwards, Jones said he “was on a mission” this season.

Here are some key stats this morning to get your blood pumping on a Thursday:

Terrence Jones- 52 points, 24-31 FGs, 2- 3pt, 2-5 FTs, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 1 block. If there is a better stat line in a scrimmage this season in major college basketball, I want to see it.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist- 21 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals. Don’t know how Calipari keeps this Kidd (lol!!!) on the bench.

Doron Lamb- 31 points, 14-27 FGs, 2-8 3 PT’s. Lamb had 31 points but had a bit of an off night behind the arch. No worries here. Lamb will be as good as advertised.

Anthony Davis- 27 points, 13 rebounds, 4 blocks, 4 steals. Can you say absolute freak? Expect stats like this every game.

Kyle Wiltjer- 27 points, 5-8 3 PTs, 11 rebounds. He hit his first three, three point shots in a row. This kid is going to be unguardable and will be the 7th man off the bench. Wow.

Darius Miller- 24 points, 4-8 3 PTs. Darius has improved his stroke and we now have three guys that can hit from the three point line at a consistent rate.

Marquis Teague- 19 points, 9-10 FTs, and 8 assists. The best thing about Teague is that he gets to the basket, gets fouled and makes his foul shots. He is quick off the dribble and tenacious on D.

Jarrod Polson- 1 dunk. Brought down the house. Teenage girls everywhere swooned.

2. Cal’s Thoughts on Blue and White Scrimmage?

Of course our fearless leader has constructive criticism. But he cannot hide his excitement. Yes coach, we know it’s just a pick up game. But what a pick up game. His biggest complaint was “spotty” defense.

3. UofL Shows the rest of the country why they are Little Brother

Our good friend Monster Mash touched on this last night, but let me expound a bit. It was pretty much said and done that West Virginia was going to take Missouri’s place in the Big 12 until the University of Louisville threw the hissy fit to end all hissy fits. They even got senator Mitch McConnell involved in the scrum and it looks as if there was some shady Good Ole Boy political lobbying done to keep Louisville’s name in the hat for conference realignment. They really are like a little brother. They cry, whine, piss and moan, and throw a fit, all the while saying “Look at me! Look at me!”, as they stomp their feet and hold their breath, just begging for attention. They are an absolute embarrassment and if this isn’t the back stabs to end all back stabs, then I don’t know what is.

When Louisville and West Virginia play football in Morgantown in a couple of weeks it is not going to be pretty. If I was a Louisville fan I would stay home for that one. Your life may be at risk. And I am not even joking.

4. Rick Pitino continues to be bonkers: AKA, Rick Being Rick

While the rest of Louisville is trying it’s hardest to become the most hated college organization in the Big East, Rick Pitino is talking Big East basketball expansion. Rick talks to anybody that will listen to him, in this case the poor soul he is blabbing to is Andy Katz. Quick Rick told Katz that Louisville will be fine in the Big East if they add Memphis and Temple.

Look Rick: This is not about basketball, it’s about football. Nor is this about you. Take a step back from your ego for a second and realize that the world of college athletics does not revolve around Rick Pitino. I am so glad you are not at Kentucky anymore.

5. Blackout!

As we all know the Cats will be wearing black uniforms for the first time ever Saturday night. I really hope this does not blow up in their faces. Nothing would be better than getting our first SEC win in black uniforms at home against a decent opponent. I don’t have a good feeling about this one, though. PROVE ME WRONG CATS!!!!

Bonus: Congrats to Kyle

Wildcat Blue Nation’s football guru Kyle and his wife welcomed a beautiful baby girl on Tuesday. Audrey Blair is 7 pounds, 1 ounce and 20 inches long.

As I am a soon to be father myself, my congrats and well wishes go out to Kyle and his newest family member. If the Cats pull off the upset against MSU, it might be the best week of his life.
