Christian Laettner leaves Rupp Arena a winner 152-149 as Evil triumphs over Good
By Paul Jordan
While parts of the night took the aura of a pro wrestling event and in the end, the bad guys got the glory, you still have to consider the Big Blue All Stars Tour a rousing success. 20 NBA players took the floor last night at Rupp Arena and the Big Blue Faithful saw the much delayed and anticipated debut of Enes Kanter to Rupp Arena. From all accounts, it was a defense out the door game as the “Villains” eeked out a 152-149 win over the Big Blue All Stars in overtime. Jodie Meeks led the way with 42 points and missed a potentially game tying trey at the buzzer, Enes Kanter had a double double with 14 points and 10 boards while Rajon Rondo and Brandon Knight scored 21 and 20 points. John Clay sent out this video of chief villain Christian Laettner being introduced at Rupp Arena:
John also has video of Enes Kanter talking about his debut at Rupp.
CBS’s Jon Rothstein was a visitor at Kentucky’s basketball practice yesterday and as John Clay notes, apparently ignored the ban on media tweeting or writing about what they say. We’re glad that he did as he provided a running commentary of UK’s practice, including the much heard comparison of Anthony Davis to Marcus Camby.
The SEC released their preseason picks and here they are, offered without commentary:

Now for the commentary. As we can see, the SEC Media types put Anthony Davis on the second team All SEC. Gary Parrish thinks that this is a dumb decision, about as dumb as when the SEC placed John Wall on the second team two seasons ago. And he rants about it while hyping up Davis.
Kentucky is currently 3-4 on the season and despite some of the negativity surrounding this season, there is still a lot of young talent that we have not really seen yet. Bleed Blue Kentucky asks if Kentucky is headed in the right direction in terms of talent?
