Kentucky Wildcats Basketball: Visitors Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

It is officially Big Blue Madness Eve and the Bluegrass is buzzing with UK basketball just around the corner (not UL basketball because you don’t exist). We have rehashed a hundred times how great this team will be and what an exciting event Madness will be.

Today, since there has been a lot of names thrown out for visitors, I thought I would give you the updated list as it stands now. But before we begin, if you aren’t going and love basketball make sure to check out ESPN’s whip around Madness coverage from 9 PM-1 AM, it is honestly as good as it gets as a basketball fan and UK will be shown.

Now, on to the list:

2012 Recruits:

-Shabazz Muhammed: Do I really need to explain any more about him? This guy is the stud of the class and it really probably isn’t close. Everyone expects it to be between UCLA and UK and him being at Madness has to be a good sign.

-DaJuan Coleman: This center is a huge prospect, literally and figuratively. He is 6-8 and 280 pounds and reminds me a lot of Jared Sullinger. His recruitment is a mainly three horse race between UK, OSU and Syracuse (home town team), no one knows where he is leaning and it is a tight race.

-Archie Goodwin: The man who committed first to UK will also be in attendance. Expect him to be the best recruiter in Lexington this weekend and lets all hope he lands some recruits.

-Alex Poythress: Poythress is a very talented SF/PF and is a five star recruit. Almost everyone expects him to be UK’s next commitment. He is from Tennessee but we won’t hold that against him. His recruitment is mainly between UK and Memphis and a Memphis insider told Gary Parrish on the radio last week that “Poythress to UK is a done deal.” Have to love it.

-Willie Cauley: Four star big man Willie Cauley is another center who will be in attendance. He is a very nice prospect who is close to 7’0 tall. His list is down to five: UK, Florida, Kansas State, Kansas and Alabama.

2013 Recruits:

-Andrew and Aaron Harrison: The twins who both are top 10 in 2013 are expected to be at Madness. These two are very talented and they speak very highly of UK. They will be a package deal and are two that a bevy of schools are after. Andrew is the point guard and Aaron is the shooting guard, Andrew is typically the higher ranked of the two. Their list is: Arizona, UK, Baylor, Kansas, Maryland and Villanova.

-Derek Willis: This is the wildcard so they say. He was going to come to Madness but then decided to go to Louisville’s JV scrimmage or whatever they call it instead. Then on Tuesday night Cal watched him work out and offered him a scholarship and some are saying that might have been enough to get him to come to Madness again. He is a new prospect to UK because he just de-committed from Purdue this summer. He is a top 30 prospect from Kentucky.

That list is all I have as of now, there has been a lot of speculation and rumors but as of now these are the only ones who are for sure coming to Madness with the exception of Willis, who is a toss up. Pretty phenomenal list and lets hope Cal is able to get a commitment or two this weekend.
