Stacy Poole has embraced the challenge of playing at "the best of the best"
By Paul Jordan
Last year there was a forgotten member of the 2010 Kentucky Wildcat basketball recruiting class. While Brandon Knight, Doron Lamb, and Terrence Jones received the adulation of the BBN faithful, Stacy Poole, the 33rd ranled player in the 2010 class struggled to even get on the floor. And admittedly, it was hard on him:
“Anybody would be (frustrated) when you’re not getting playing time,” Poole said. “I talked about it with my parents and I talked with coach and I felt like if I was going to work hard at any place, why not do it here? You get more benefits out of doing it here. This place is the best of the best.”
And with Jon Hood sidelined, Poole may get a chance to play more. Eric Lindsey over at Coach Cal.com has more with Poole in an interview.
John Calipari has had success recruiting in Florida recently, plucking both Brandon Knight and Stacey Poole from the Sunshine State. 2013’s Chris Walker is the next big recruit Calipari wants to snatch from Billy Donovan and he was visiting the Gators this weekend. Walked also confirmed his plans to attend Big Blue Madness with Adam Zagoria.
Don’t look now, but Terrence Jones is one of the coverboys for the Sporting NEws basketball preview magazine. The magazine also named Antony Davis to their first team All American squad while Terrence Jones was named to the second team All American.
And finally, let’s finish with some recruiting videos for the fourth and fifth item on this Labor Day Monday. First, 2013 recruit Julis Randle talks about his recruitment so far and we have new video of fellow 2013 recuits (and BBM attendees ) Andrew and Aaron Harrison.
