Kentucky Basketball: Monday Knight Update

facebooktwitterreddit

Brandon Knight’s nbadraft.net profile was updated as he continues to go through pre-draft workout for teams. He was recently issued a challenge by former BYU guard Jimmer Fredette to workout one-on-one against each other in front of NBA scouts. Fredette has been impressing scouts and believes he has enough momentum to overtake Knight as the 2nd best point guard in the draft. Knight should respectfully decline, as he has all but reached his maximum stock with his great NCAA Tournament leading UK into the Final 4, while Jimmer got knocked off in the sweet 16, ending with a lousy performance against a Florida team that Knight played well against 3 different times. Most scouts believe that if Knight doesn’t go #3 to Utah, Toronto is a lock to take him at #5, especially if their point guard, Jose Calderon, may play overseas in the event of an NBA lockout. Knight continues to draw comparisons to Jason Terry, which after watching game 6 of the NBA Finals, would be a great player to mold yourself after:

Boy has Lebron fallen off with the fans, even UK fans after just doing the Y at Rupp Arena one year ago.

A quick update on Terrence Jones:

Jones will attend the Kevin Durant skills camp in Chicago this month. TJ took a pass on a chance to tryout for USA Basketball. He wants to stay in Lexington and build chemistry with his team. “I’m enj
oying the experience,” Jones said. “I want to gain maturity. I want to learn how to be a better leader. I want to try and win a national championship with the new guys coming in. ”

That’s the sign of a leader folks.
