Monday I gave you some interviews from players that I spoke to after the Blue-White scrimmage, and here are the rest of them. Let’s get into the good stuff:

Stuart Hines:
Before I go into this, I’d like to share a story with you. During the second half a lovely young woman walked up and handed me an interview request from asking for people that members of the media would like to speak to. Stuart was high on my list because I feel that as a veteran senior he could tell me things that the others could not. Apparently he wasn’t used to interview requests because he strode into the media room looking very confused and slightly skeptical. I was doing another interview at that moment but nobody else was talking to him and he looked around, getting more bored by the minute. I ended my other interview quickly and introduced myself and had what I consider one of the better interviews of the day.
On the rumors that the O-line is struggling:
“It’s just a process, you gotta take it step by step. When we started out in the spring we had a rough first couple of weeks, bounced back a little bit, we’ve struggled here and there, and one of those things is, we’re struggling the blitzes coming at us with the new defense coming in, and that may be one thing that’s got us on edge, but what were gonna have to do is get together in the off season, work hard to get better then come together as one unit in the fall.”
On whether facing a faster practice defense is preparing the line for SEC defense:
“I think it definitely is, we’re seeing a lot more pressure off the edge, lot more zone blitz, and it’s really getting us ready to block that kind of stuff once we get into SEC play.”
On his excitement for the season:
“I’m excited for the season to start, we got a lot of work to do, I’m glad we have the summer to do it, glad we have fall camp coming up and we obviously need to get better. But I’m excited for the season, excited to get out there and get some competition going, play some teams and get after it.”

Danny Trevathan (who was swamped by people and thus hard to get a question in):
On how Coach Minter is improving his play:
“I’ve really just been trying to learn the defense, run downfield and make plays. After I learned (Minter was coming in) I watched film on his old schools, other (Minter coached) players, watched ourselves and corrected ourselves, and that’s going to allow me to make plays, so I see things out there that I’ll be able to do and the next time I see it, I just react, instantly and I think that’s what he’s going to help me do.”
On how close he is to knowing the defense:
“I believe I’m there, I try to be humble, but I believe I’m there with that aspect, it’s just me doing little things. Being a leader, that’s what helps me on my way. Having that breakfast (captain’s breakfast) today really helped me knick-knack (what?) on those little things and I thank them for that.
On the challenges of learning a new system as a veteran:
“It’s going to be like that in the NFL and in life period. Jobs, getting your ranking up, getting a new position, that’s the challenge of the world. In the NFL you come in as a rookie, you gotta learn a new playbook, they slap it right on you, you gotta learn it, and that’s what (Minter) did, he threw plays at us. At first I was kinda like “I can’t handle this” but he wanted me to go above myself, above and beyond, and really get into the mental aspect of “I can do this” and I really believe that now and I’ve learned that defense down to the T and it’s going to help me make plays.”
On where he’d like to end the season:
“Somewhere in Florida. Outback, whatever” (laughs)

Brian Adams:
After posting a 150+ yard and two TD day, he still had a baseball game to play but came in and was one of the most personable players I interviewed. He did ask if he could sit down during the interview. I let him, but just because I was in a good mood.
Do you feel that splitting time between sports has affected your playbook knowledge:
Not really, I feel very comfortable with the offense. My first year I was here I didn’t play, so I got time to learn the offense a lot, so I feel really comfortable this year, especially after last year with Chris (Matthews) and Randall (who?) helped me along with that, and now I just have to concentrate on what the quarterback is doing on the line. I’m really comfortable in the offense though, baseball doesn’t really affect me that much.”
On how he felt his day went:
“It was a lot of fun, we did some good things on offense, had way too many drops personally, I think I had three that were obviously not textbook catches, but I still need to make those plays. it’s something to get better and I also need to get into better shape. Right now I feel I’m in good shape but not where I want to be where I can play a full game and not have to come out, so I’ll just keep working and have a good off season, but once again, it was a lot of fun to come out here and we did some really good things as well.
On the receiver drops:
“There were (too many). It’s not a lack of work but a lack of focus, not watching the ball all the way in, trying to get upfield. I had a fumble and we cannot have that happen, that’s just me trying to make a guy miss and not holding the ball tight to my body, and that’s something we can’t do, that’s something we need to get better at during the offseason, get ready for next year. That’s what killed us last year, we can’t do that
On the one handed catch:
“It was alright (laughs). Obviously it was pretty fun to go out there and play, and I just feel fortunate to play both, and coach phillips has been great, coach martin, chris and randall, Ive had a tremendous group of people around me that helped me along with the receivers with the second year playing receiver. i’ve learned a lot, but I’ve also got a lot left to learn.
On if playing two sports is wearing him out:
“Yeah, I’m pretty tired, but I’m not going to let the opportunity pass. Rock, Jim, all those guys do a great job do a great job keeping my legs fresh, allowing me to play both. Today I got a little tired but that was at the end of it, now i gotta go over to baseball. but I’m doing alright, I just gotta get in better shape and I’ll be alright.
On if he can contribute this year:
“You know, I’d like to be, that’s a challenge for the receiving corp, we got good guys around us, some freshamn we’re looking forward to seeing, and I gotta do better. I’m excited about today and we did good things but we did some bad things as well so we’re looking forward to growing on that and get better over the summer.”

I will be coming back on Friday for an NFL draft update, as well as any rumors or news that has come along about a certain man-god’s starting point for his NFL career.
