Kentucky Wildcats Farmer's Almanac for Wednesday (3/2/11)

facebooktwitterreddit

While most of America was watching Charlie Sheen talks about how he has “tigerblood” and how he is “a rockstar”. Wildcat fans was celebrating Jorts day on senior day as the Cats defeated Vanderbilt 68-66. The Cats held 15 points once in the game but was not able to hold on to that. The Cats played a poor second losing the second half 37-28 but was able to hold on the win.

Last night was the last celebration for Josh Harrellson at Rupp Arena. Josh put up 8 points,9 rebounds and 4 blocks in his currant call at Rupp. I have never saw the crowd at Rupp so excited over one player on senior day. Everywhere you looked all you saw was “Jorts” It was amazing night but everyone was there just to cheer for one man. It looks like Jorts plans to test the NBA waters this year and if he doesn’t make it try over seasons. From here on out is one bad season away from a day job, which if that happens is ok with him. He would like to pursue a basketball career but if that doesn’t work out he wants to work with kids.

Some things to keep your eyes on tonight would be the Georgia vs LSU game tonight. Why is that you ask? Well if the Tigers are able to pull out the win over the Bulldogs. Kentucky would then hold their own destiny for the first round-bye in the SEC tournament. If the cats wants to be “winners” like Charlie Sheen and go into the SEC tournament with bye all they have to do is win Sunday. A “bye-winning” kind of game.

The honors look to keep pouring in for the freshman class of 2011. Two of Kentucky’s signees have been named finalist for another award, the 2011 Morgan Wootten Player of the Year. Anthony Davis and Michael Gilchrist are two of four finalists for this award.

It looks as if a verbal commitment will be coming from UK Recruit J.P. Tokoto, tomorrow night around 10 PM. Tokoto has his list of schools down to eight schools. Kentucky, Connecticut, Kansas, North Carolina, Marquette, Maryland, Wisconsin and UCLA are this selections. Though sources seem to believe the list really down to two schools and Kentucky isn’t one of them. They believe he will commit to North Carolina or Wisconsin. Tokoto is a junior at Menomonee Falls HS in Wiscousin, though it looks like he may be finding a new school to take his talents to for his senior year.

It looks like our boy John Wall his keeping his name in the news as he was named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month. Wall put up an averaged an amazing 16.5 points and 7.9 assist in his 12 games in the month of February.

It looks Enes Kanter has been working out for the NBA. Kanter worked out for GM of the Utah Jazz. I say he will be working out for many more teams in the future but this is the start of the journey.

Sorry for all the Charlie Sheen one liners but I figured since everyone missed the 20/20 interview since they was watching the game I would drop a few for you.
