Kentucky Wildcats Daily Farmer's Almanac for Monday

facebooktwitterreddit

Hello friends. I hate to keep running into you like this. Writing about Kentucky after a Kentucky loss is tough, just brings up bad memories I’d just like to forget. That being said, I have decided to move on. I can’t remember if we have lost 4 games on the road by a total of 8 points. I have no idea what you are talking about.

Last week was painfully slow in terms of news, but today the news is coming Fast and Furious. (BTW if you watched the Super Bowl last night, did you see they are coming out with a 5th Fast and Furious movie. Talk about needing to move on).

Anyways.

To the news!

The eternal pessimist in me expect the Cats to be ranked somewhere around the Mendoza Line. (thats 200 for the non-baseball folk). But it seems we fared much better as we only fell a couple spots. The Cats come in at 18th in both Coaches and AP polls. And I almost threw up when I saw UofL ranked ahead of us, get it together Wildcats!

Brandon Knight is really good. He’s tried to will us back to win the last 2 games after falling just short. It seems that other people are taking notice as Mt. Knight has become a top 10 finalist on American Idol The Bob Cousy Award list. Believe it or not John Wall didn’t win this award last year. So I don’t have a lot in Ryan Seacrest or the voters of this award, but anyways Go B-Knight!

The Kentucky Wildcats face off against the hated, low down, dirty, snitches Tennessee Volunteers tomorrow night in case you didn’t know. Stupid haircutted Scotty Hopson is listed as questionable to play. If Bruce Pearl is taking a page of Slick Rick Pitino’s book, expect Hopson to play 40 minutes with no sign of injury. Also Bruce Pearl is making his way back from suspension, so treat him “fair” Kentucky fans.

I have been hearing all the doom and gloom surrounding the SEC title race. But Coach Cal doesn’t seem to think we are out of it yet, and honestly I don’t either. I expect Florida to stumble some (they aren’t that great of a team) and if we can take care of business we’ll be right there in the end. So chins up little Kiddy Cats and regroup and cheer this team to VICTORY!

In recent recruiting post yours truly touched on a player by the name of Alex Murphy. While Alex is a 6’8” white basketball player and he seems to have a lot of ability, he has also just committed to Duke. So as a UK fan I am obligated to tell you he sucks and we didn’t want him any ways. Carry on.

I live in Louisville. I hate the Louisville fans here. Its dreadful listening to them go on about how great they are, how awesome Rick Pitino is, how the Yum! Center is the best building man has built since the pyramids blah, blah, blah. The sports in town are hard to follow. But it looks like Louisville might be on the doorstep of acquiring an NBA team finally! I am all for this as it would make following a local sport steam tolerable. Now please make trades for John Wall, Big Cuz, PPat, Bledsoe, Rondo, and make room to draft Enes Kanter. Thanks.

In a quick and final note. Every go vote for Terrence Jones as dunk of the year. Don’t look at the slow-mo replay however where he takes 3 gigantic steps.

That’s it
Go Cats!
