Good morning BBN. I know how you feel. Last night was one of the toughest basketball losses to stomach in quite some time. Regardless, we can’t dwell on it because we have our biggest game of the year on the horizon Saturday at Florida. Unfortunately, Vanderbilt got absolutely robbed with a late non call on a three pointer lat night or we may be looking at a different landscape in the SEC East this morning. Here is what the race looks like right now:
Florida 6-2
Tennesse 4-2
Kentucky 4-3
South Carolina 3-3
Vandy 3-4
Georgia 3-4
Keep in mind that Kentucky’s next three games are versus Florida, Tennessee, and Vandy, so if the Wildcats can take care of business the next three games, they would be tied with Florida and Tennessee with three losses and have two losses fewer than Vandy. Keep hope alive.
The tweet above went out just minutes after the game lat night from Darius Miller. And you have to realize that no one feels worse about the game than Miller and the Cats and that it takes a true man to take blame for the loss. We’re cool. Darius Miller. Just make sure you guys do work the next three games.

Today, of course is National Signing Day for the football Wildcats and by all indications, the Wildcats have a very solid class coming in. As of right now, Kentucky’s incoming class is rated at the 30th best class in the country by some sites. Of course, you have to play devils advocate and see that they are 10th in the SEC, but this is a huge jump forward from when Kentucky was the 55th to 60th best class just a few years ago. In that class rankings, we should note that Kentucky’s class is ahead of Virginia Tech, Penn State, Louisville, Miami, and Utah. We are making progress, people.
Chris Low from ESPN recently published his list of recruiting needs for each team in the SEC, Here is what he had to say about the Wildcats:
"KENTUCKY Receiver: How do you replace everything that Randall Cobb provided for the Wildcats? Not only is he gone after deciding to turn pro, but so is Chris Matthews. They combined to catch 16 touchdown passes this season. Replacing their playmaking ability won’t be easy. Defensive line: Three of the four starters from the bowl game are gone, including dependable tackle Ricky Lumpkin. The Wildcats hope promising tackle Mister Cobble is over his academic issues, but still need to add interior help. Rising senior tackle Mark Crawford ended this season on suspension. They could also use some pass-rushing help on the outside after finishing with 21 sacks this season, which was tied for next to last in the league. Linebacker: Fortunately for the Wildcats, Danny Trevathan decided to stay in school. He led the SEC in tackles this season, but will be a senior next season. So will Ronnie Sneed. Ridge Wilson will be a junior, so it’s time to start finding the guys who are going to fill their shoes. There are a couple of young linebackers in the program the Wildcats like, including rising sophomore Qua Huzzie."
Don’t forget, our very own football editor Kyle and Zach Rosen are going to be taking over the site for the next few hours and providing us with live National Signing Day updates. There are still lots of names on the board for Kentucky and we should always look for those signing day surprises, so stay with them throughout the day.
