UK Basketball: The Anticipation Is Killing Me
By Paul Jordan
So, as Carly says, ” stay right here, cause these are the good old days”.
The new class is signed, sealed and delivered, and now Cal can get to the business at hand. I try not to envy people too much. It is not healthy to want what some others have, or to try and take away from what others accomplish, but I really do envy Cal at this point. Even if the Cats were to slip a little this year, no one is going to panic, no one is going to go off the deep end and start calling for heads to roll, because the future looks so great already. When was the last time that a college coach signed this many #1 recruiting classes one after the other, after the other? The man has us eating out of his hand, and that is a major accomplishment for someone dealing with rabid Wildcat fans. Complain about one and dones? Ahh, maybe a few off handed comments here or there, but what is someone going to complain about, that we are getting too many great players? We just spent the better part of 10 years getting decent but not spectacular talent in here and that didn’t win us anything, I wanna try it the other way around for a change. I will have grandchildren in the next 10-15 years God willing, and I cannot wait to sit in that chair of mine, pull one up close and tell them all about the time when John Wall made a last second jumper to win his first game at UK. Or how Terrence Jones dunked over 5 guys in an SEC Tournament game to send Tennessee home. Or how Anthony Davis slammed one home with three guys hanging on him as he went up to beat Duke for a National Championship. And there will be other names as well. Cal is going to see to that. Anticipation…….It Is Killing Me!!
