WBN SEC POWER RANKINGS
1. (1) Auburn (10-0) – See Cameron pass. See Cameron run. See the man with $180,000. Run, Cameron, Run. See Cam Newton and Auburn whip up on Chattanooga 62-24. See Gene Chizik laugh at Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and everyone at Iowa State. UP NEXT: versus Georgia
2. (4) LSU (8-1) – OK, we can no longer make any more Les Miles jokes. With a subpar passing game, he outplayed and outlasted Nick Saban and the Tigers may actually have a chance at the SEC championship game and with a lot of help, possibly a national title? Weirder things have happened but the LSU D is a neutralizer and is plain nasty. UP NEXT: Louisiana Monroe
3. (2) Alabama (7-2) – You know what? Call me crazy, but I still think Alabama is the best team in the country … so how does Nick Saban lose 2 games with this team? Well just remember, Saint Nick is the same genius that thought that Dante Culpepper was a better QB than Drew Brees when he coached my Dolphins. Yea, I’m still holding on to that one… UP NEXT: vs Mississippi State
4. (5) Arkansas (7-2) – Well the Razorbacks whupped on on South Carolina to improve to 7-2 and I will tell ya, this is the biggest “what if” team. What if Mallettee did not throw that horrible INT vs Bama, giving that game away? What if Mallette had stayed healthy the whole game versus Auburn? No title hopes for Arkansas this year, but this team can beat anyone any given Saturday. UP NEXT: vs UTEP
5. (7) Florida (6-3) – Long left for dead, the Gators are back in the hunt for the SEC East and I have to admit I am not Gator fan, but I am rooting like hell for a “Cameron Newton vs the Gators” SEC Championship game. Oh yea, the Gators crushed Vandy this weekend 55-14. UP NEXT: vs South Carolina
6. (6) Mississippi State (7-2) – I know the Bulldogs beat Florida, but the Bulldogs had a bye week so remain in the number 6 position. I am not 100% sold on the Bulldogs, but they have won 6 in a row. We’ll see if they have earned their rating this week. UP NEXT: @ Alabama
7. (3) South Carolina (6-3) – How the mighty have fallen, but that is what a 41-20 beatdown to Arkansas will do for you and now Steve Spurrier must travel to the Swamp to try and win the SEC East on what was his hallowed ground. The pressure is on the Ole Ball Coach this weekend as if the Gamecocks can assert themselves this year, they may never. UP NEXT: @ Florida
8. (8) Georgia (5-5) – Sorry Bulldogs, a 55-7 win over Idaho State does not give you a lot of street credibility in the WBN SEC Power Rankings. UP NEXT: @ Auburn
9. (9) Kentucky (5-5) – Sorry Wildcats, but a 49-21 win over Charleston Southern does not give you a lot of street credibility in the WBN SEC Power Rankings. UP NEXT: Vanderbilt
10. (10) Mississippi (4-5) – See Georgia and Kentucky and apply that to your 43-21 win over Louisiana Lafayette. UP NEXT: @ Tennessee
11. (11) Tennessee (3-6) – Sorry Vol fans. Same applies to your 50-14 win over 1-8 Memphis. UP NEXT: vs Ole Miss
12. (12) Vanderbilt (2-7) – At least the Vols played a legitimate team but losing 55-14 to Florida does not raise you any. UP NEXT: @ Kentucky
