Former Cats in the NFL: Stevie still gets loose and Tamme has a huge opportunity

facebooktwitterreddit

Stevie Johnson (WR/Buffalo Bills): One of the NFL’s more unheralded players is breaking out for one of

the NFL’s worst teams. The Bills continue to lose in heartbreaking fashion, this week to the Ravens in
a 37-34 thriller in Baltimore. Johnson continued his hot streak for eight receptions, 158 yards, and one
touchdown. The third year pro out of Kentucky has become one of the Bills most reliable options and
quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has taken a liking to Johnson’s sure-fire hands. Johnson had eight catches
Sunday on 10 targets, displaying his ability to catch the ball in a variety of ways. Johnson’s touchdown
was his fifth in four games and ties him for 12th in the NFL with five overall touchdowns.

Tim Masthay (P/Green Bay Packers): Masthay had a relatively quiet night during the Packers Sunday
Night game against NFC North rival Minnesota. Green Bay pulled out a solid 28-24 victory over the
Vikings which saw Masthay boot two punts for a total of 90 yards. He was able to get one inside the
Vikings 20-yard line, an aspect he’s worked on since the beginning of the season.

Myron Pryor (NT/New England Patriots): Pryor had a nice day as the Patriots went on to 23-20 victory
over the San Diego Chargers. He had three tackles on the night-seven total for the season-while
containing the Chargers rushing attack. San Diego was only able to put up 38-yards on the ground due in
large part to Pryor and a stout Patriots defensive line.

Corey Peters (DT/Atlanta Falcons): The Falcons and Peters continue to do well on the 2010-11 seasons,
as the rookie defensive lineman went on to record a tackle against the Bengals Sunday afternoon. That
now gives Peters 15 tackles on the season, highlighting one of the more promising starts for any former
Kentucky Wildcats football player.

Wesley Woodyard (LB/Denver Broncos): No stats accumulated.

John Conner (FB/New York Jets): BYE Week

Jacob Tamme (TE/Indianapolis Colts): Tamme benefits from a devastating injury to Dallas Clark last
week. The young-veteran has been getting some ‘pub’ as well recently, dubbed as a ‘solid fantasy pick-
up’ or a player who could break out after only one week. Tamme showcased his skills during a 2007
season that brought plenty of good fortunes for the ‘Cats. Those same skills will shine through for the Colts in the coming weeks, as Clark is out for the season. Look for some promising things out of Tamme.

Micah Johnson (LB/Miami Dolphins): Practice Squad

Keenan Burton (free agent):

Trevard Lindley (CB/Philadelphia Eagles): Ruled inactive for Week 7 game.

Jeremy Jarmon (DE/Washington Redskins): No stats accumulated.

Garry Williams (OL/Carolina Panthers): Williams started the Panthers game during Week 7’s matchup
against the San Francisco 49er’s. It was Williams’ first start of the season and career, as he was able to
showcase some of the skills he learned from Rich Brooks while at Kentucky. Williams and company gave
starting quarterback Matt Moore enough time to find his receivers, while racking up 308-yards and two
touchdowns.
