WBN Hot Links-Never Give Up! Edition

Good Morning Wildcat Fans wherever you are!!! Just call me Froggy this morning, because like the frog in the picture, I am not going down without a fight, and I am rallying to the cause. No matter what the outcome may be.
Why this sudden change you ask, from the sullen, downtrodden, shadow of a football fan I was yesterday? Well, it is quite simple. They can kill us but they cannot eat us. And low and behold when I got up this morning, the sun came up, the birds sang, and people are already trying to turn us into the butt of every joke they can think of in the world of the oblong ball.
So, Damn The Torpedoes, and Full Speed Ahead!! Someone get Randall and Derrick an extra bottle of whatever it is they drink before one of their huge performances, slap Mike Hartline on his backside and let’s go get Auburn! And as I know I was not alone in my frustration over the last couple of weeks, I am working my way through the stages of dealing with a loss. You know, grief, anger, denial, acceptance, and inflicting pain on others. So on with the pain.
In today’s strange and unusual file (which is becoming more and more usual) we have the curious case of Senator Charles Grassley. Senator Grassley thinks, correctly I might add, that the FBS schools have a boatload of money coming in from corporate sources that probably ought to be counted as income, instead of donations for the operations of their athletics programs, and that their tax-exempt status might be a little misconstrued. Well, Sen. Grassley sent a letter to the PAC-10 (like they need any more problems), asking for their records and estimations of how much increased revenue they are going to have after realignment, etc. Folks, as much as all of this appears to be grandstanding (which it is) it points out some very obvious problems. Even though the PAC-10 sent a letter themselves back stating how much they are ready and willing to cooperate, they are not going to provide anything that is going to support the Senator’s claims, and they would be stupid to do so. It just amazes me how much the government and the NCAA operate alike, although they are on opposite sides of an issue.
The Cats say they are confident they can beat Auburn on Saturday. Beat them guys, and I will be confident too. This article is more about what befuddles me with the Cats than anything. Danny Trevaithan was the man who came up just short of nailing down that onside kick for the Cats on Saturday. Just one problem. He had a cast on his hand. Joker Phillips says that Danny was the best guy to have in that slot at that time, which I would normally agree with 100%. But is Joker trying to tell me that a guy with a cast on has better hands than the rest of the team which does not? Tell me we did not have 5 wideouts standing over there with 2 good hands to use. Is that how bad the rest of this Kentucky team is??
As much as I hate to revisit this again, there is more on the Bruce Pearl saga. Will someone just dig up all of the dirt and get it out and done with? The NCAA is dealing with it, let them work.
Gary Parrish tells people what they already know, but do not want to hear anyway. Down in Baton Rouge, Les Miles is trying his best to say and do the right things. Good luck with that one Les. Tom Crean has Indiana labeled as an underachiever the last five years. More on the UNC debacle, which has now reached as far as Alabama and Florida, here in this update.
So, digest all of that and we will get you some more tomorrow. And who knows, maybe Joker will have Saturday all figured out by then.
