WBN Hot Links- Free Enes Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

Good Morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Free Enes edition of the WBN Hot Links. The young man in the photo on the left is Enes Kanter. Unduly persecuted and left hanging in the wind by the NCAA. The two men on the right however are not OUR Enes. Those gentlemen are Big and Little Enos Burdette of Smoky and The Bandit fame. They could possibly be in charge of the NCAA, I am not sure.

We dedicate this edition to those folks out there in the NCAA that are either too blind to see what greedy individuals the Turkish Gentlemen who seek to bar young Enes from playing college ball are, or too busy taking down half of the programs in the country one school at a time ( I will explain later).

So, NCAA, here’s to you and all of your wonderful investigative work you seem to have been doing lately. Unlike Pete Thamel who couldn’t find his backside with both hands, a flashlight and a mirror. But, alas that is another story. Late last night Rivals.com the Yahoo sports blog, broke a story about what is really going on in the NCAA’s investigation of the UNC Football team. Where previous reports centered around some guys getting way too many party favors, this one explains the bulk of what the NCAA is finding. It appears from this report, done by Charles Robinson, that a former UNC Asst. Coach John Blake has been paid money by an agent, Gary Wichard, or his agency, Pro Tect Management. This was done, according to the report, to steer players towards Wichard and his associates. UNC DT Marvin Austin is one of the players at the heart of the report. Now unlike Thamel and his drivel, this report has a serious paper trail, and accounts from the parties involved who lied about their whereabouts, their income and other details which were documented. This is not a hatchet job. Pete Thamel, take note, Robinson could teach you a thing or two.

This is just the latest in what has been a long line of schools that the NCAA is making life very uncomfortable for. UNC joins, USC, Tennessee, UT-Chattanooga, UCONN, Michigan, and others as schools the NCAA is making formal investigations into. In Tennessee’s case, the investigations are covering the entire athletics department. While at UNC and USC the investigations are Football related.

Moving right along, this is a new feature over at www.coachcal.com . Check out Cal’s mailbag. Was fun to listen to.Especially if you like Alan “I Can Run All Day” Cutler. Dicky V wants the NCAA to get their collective selves in gear and get the Enes Kanter situation moving along. Thank You Dick Vitale, because they sure are not listening to us. I have to confess I do not think I will ever figure out Jerry Tipton. He takes backhanded shots at Eric Bledsoe after nothing is proved, then he does this feel good story on the campers down at Memorial wanting to Free Enes. Jerry, my friend, you confuse me to no end sometimes.

Ken Howlett, over at A Sea Of Blue, looks at the Ol’ Miss game as a turning point for the Cats this season, and has some examples of some other turning points in the past.

The new Wildcat TipOff is in at Maple Street Press. Some really good stuff in there for all of us Cat Fan Addicts.

Tomorrow will be all Football baby unless something else breaks and they Free Enes!!!! So stay tuned tomorrow fans, same Cat-Time, same Cat-Channel!
