Good Morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Beyond A Dream Edition of the WBN Hot Links. The former Wildcat over to your left, Mark Krebs has released a book about his time with the Cats, and it will surely be well worth a read. So for some of you early Christmas shoppers wanting to get your favorite Wildcat Fan something he or she does not already have, take a look at Mark’s site. Playing through what that young man did and making something of his time at UK is truly inspirational.
The testimonials alone were worth the read. Mark, we truly appreciate everything you did as a Kentucky Wildcat.
Remember that little get-together we have planned for later in the month of October? You know, that thing they have on TV, and a bunch of folks go down to Rupp Arena and watch the guys warm up and Cal talks a little bit, yeah, that’s it, Big Blue Madness. Well gang, the lines are already forming, even though they were supposed to wait until 7 AM this morning to do it…..sorry, UK Administration, we have waited long enough. So grab your tent, sleeping bags and cornhole game and head down to Memorial before all the good camping spots are gone.
Andy Katz has his Wooden Award Watch List already out and there are no less than 3 Wildcats on it right now. Have a look for yourself. It is surely going to be another awesome year. Dick Weiss seems to think that people are being unreasonable about John Calipari. Hmmm, a New York newspaperman who is not biased against Kentucky. Now there is something I never thought I would see.
The Cats are 3-7 Vs. Ol’ Miss in the last 10 games. Time to get that record moving in the other direction. This year is as good a place as any to start. UK has shown some Love to Shaquille, and now he is showing some back. No, not the Shaq Attack, Shaquille Love out of Harriman, Tn has committed to the Cats, after what he called “a lot of praying about it”. Looks like we get a prayer answered too. Love is quick and big, just the way we like it. Bleed Blue Kentucky has a look at the offensive commitments for UK for 2011. A pretty good looking list if you ask me.
Cal says that teams outside Kentucky are afraid that UK is going to dominate the college game. Hehehe, just the way we like it.
On an outside note, My Cincinnati Reds captured their first NL Central crown in 15 years last night with a walk-off home run by none other than my daughter’s favorite player, Jay Bruce. Coming from the era of the Big Red Machine, it has been hard to watch Cincy struggle the way they have for the last 15 years. Finally that era is over.
More for you folks later so enjoy the beginning of the countdown to Big Blue Madness. I will start the clock on Friday!!
