Kentucky and Indiana came into the annual border battle in 2004 in opposite directions. The Wildcats were shut out by intra-state rival Louisville 28-0 two weeks before while the Hoosiers upset #24 Oregon 30-24 in the previous week. But, in a season not filled with many bright spots (Kentucky went 2-9 in 2004), the Wildcats and their offense shined brightest this particular night against Indiana. Kentucky scored on 7 of their first 9 possessions and their offense, which only managed 238 yards of total offense against Louisville, exploded for 560 yards against the Hoosiers. Kentucky piled up 355 yards on the ground, including two 100-yard rushers (quarterback Shane Boyd with 130 yards and running back Tony Dixon with 105 yards). This was also my first home game as a student at the University of Kentucky so this was a special game for me as well.
