Good Morning folks, and welcome to the Red Bull Edition of The WBN Hot Links. Red Bull you ask?? That’s right folks, Red Bull. John Clay says I need one, so I went out and got one. Unfortunately for me, Red Bull is not going to fix my problem. You see, I like the John Calipari Effect, which has now been renamed John Calipari Fatigue Syndrome by some uneducated individuals who think that May-October is for resting. That’s old people talking right there. And I don’t mean in age either. That is a fan who wants to go on a tear from November to April, win it all, then go back into hibernation until November again. Not going to happen anymore folks. And here’s why.
My first link this morning is a non-link. Why? Because I refuse to feed any more business Pete Thamel’s way. When he decides to start acting like an adult, I may reconsider, until then, forget it. Yes the man with the Turkish translator is at it again, and this time he let’s his opinions run rampant again. But what else have we come to expect from such a quality journalist.
Next, former Wildcat Jared Carter’s father has been sentenced in another ticket scam. He joins Derrick Millar and Ed Davender as this year’s examples of how you do NOT get UK tickets. There is a ticket lottery and ticket office at UK for just such occasions folks. Jerry Tipton has a pretty good column on the Bledsoe situation, although I do not know if he is accurate about the NCAA taking it’s cue from the Alabama High School Athletic Association. Dana O’Neil’s piece is here too. One interesting thing about the Dana O’Neil piece is something I picked up on from the quote she had in there. I will elaborate at 2pm today, but it might put this whole thing in a new light.
Randall Cobb, is he worthy of a look by the Heisman Committee? I think so, and so does Eric Lindsey over at Cat Scratches. Mike Hartline a GUNSLINGER???? I have used a lot of terms to describe Hartline over the past three years, but the word gunslinger never entered my thoughts until now.
Down in Gator Town, there are those who have questions about why there have been 30 players arrested in Urban Meyer’s tenure at Florida. Admittedly so do I. And so does our own Paul Jordan. See Below.
Da’Rick Rogers is cleared of all charges down in Knoxville. Seems the officer who claimed Rogers resisted arrest, now claims he couldn’t see clearly who hit him. Da’ Rick has said all along he was innocent. Also in Knoxville, it seems as though phone calls were not the only thing that Bruce Pearl had some difficulties with. Seems as though illegal visits to his home were involved too.
Honestly there are literally 50-60 more of these I could link to about every little thing going on in college athletics today, but my Red Bull has worn off and now I need coffee. Don’t want that CAF syndrome catching up with me.
