Hello, BBN. How has your 4th of July weekend been? Mine has been good. I think my blood type is officially sweet BBQ sauce by now (love that stuff), but admit it, you really aren’t that interested in how my weekend has been. What have the basketball Cats and Coach Calipari been up to lately?
Well, thanks to Coach Cal’s twitter account, we know that he had a cookout at his house for the staff and team and apparently the hit of the cookout was the Calipari’s tramploline as Cal sent out a few pics of the guys enjoying the amenities.
Prior to the cookout, Calipari had spent some time in the Big Apple as he was greeted by UK fans at the Yankee game. Love that twitter …. how else would we keep up with our Wildcat’s? Since it’s a slow holiday weekend, I decided to check in on our other “verified UK Twitter accounts and see what our Wildcats have been up to lately.
Josh Harrellson has been getting a lot of pre-season hype as possibly being a difference maker this season for the Wildcats and it appears that he is taking it all seriously. Here is what Jorts has to say about the upcoming season via his Twitter:
"had a great week of workouts i can see improvements!! cant wait to tear up the court this year! on my way to class then home for the holiday"
Darius Miller has been spending his holiday in Lexington and is one of the more active Wildcats on twitter. He appears to be watching the LeBron James sweepstakes very closely however:
"Jus thought Id say that if lebron comes to the heat (myfavoriteteam) and plays with dwade (myfavoriteplayer) then the NBA should b canceled"
Madisonville’s Jon Hood has spent his 4th of July weekend on the lake and kept his twitter followers entertained by sending fireworks pictures. From Terrence Jones’s twitter account, we have found that Doron Lamb is the slowest person to get ready on the team and that he has had troubles getting used to the time difference in Lexington. Terrence seems to be getting the love from the fans however as he tweets:
"I’m good gettin love from my new Uk family and I’m lovin it out here thanks"
Terrence’s twitter account has something of a cliffhanger as he is deciding between an Iphone and the Spring 4G phone. Go with the Iphone, Terrence. , Finally, Eloy Vargas has been using his twitter account as a motivational tool and is looking to prove his doubters wrong this upcoming season.

It’s good to see players like Jorts and Vargas keyed up and ready for the upcoming season. I kind of like my players playing angry and with a chip on their shoulders even though they are talented enough to play for the best college basketball program in the country. Keep that hunger, boys.
