Who is Kentucky's #1 celebrity fan?: Ashley Judd enters the tournament

facebooktwitterreddit

The BBN has spoken and they do not like their celeb basketball fans moonlighting with the Dirty Birds and as a result, Josh Robbins has claimed the #7 seed in the Kentucky basketball Celebrity Tournament. Josh Robbins, of the “Cougartown” and John Wall Dance fame dominated John Schnatter, the Papa John’s founder by an 8-% to 20% margin. Robbins’s reward? He gets to face Eddie Montgomery, the #2 seed next week.

But today, we enter the actual tournament part with all the seedings decided. Let’s look at the combatants:

#1 ASHLEY JUDD

When you think Kentucky fans, you think Ashley Judd. Ever since she completed her academic career at Kentucky in 1990, Judd has been prevalent at University of Kentucky basketball games. Nary a big game passes where she is not huddled with the UK masses cheering on the Cats. And as the above picture shows, she is not afraid to venture into hostile territories to support the Blue and White.

Ashley’s support of the Blue and White extends to beyond hoops as was evidenced by her posing for the iconic 1998-1999 UK Hockey calendar … seriously does anyone else have a chance against her in this tournament?

#8 BEN ROETHLISBERGER

Yes, Big Ben made short work of John Daly to fight his way into the tournament, but can Cal’s pal Big Ben upset Ashley Judd? I doubt it. As we said the other day, Ben has no real ties to UK, but both he and Steeler coach Mike Tomlin have shown up at Rupp for games. I guess it’s good Ben did make this tournament as he will have the first six games of the NFL season to sit out. Maybe he can boost his status as a Kentucky celeb fan by taking in a game at Commonwealth? Who knows, but he has his work cut out.

So what do you say BBN? How much do we love Ashley Judd? Does Big Ben have a chance? Vote in the box at the upper right and we will have a new matchup on Monday.
