It’s a quite weekend for recruiting news this weekend, but the week ahead seems to hold some promise for figuring out exactly who is going to join Brandon Knight, Stacey Poole, Enes Kanter, and Doron Lamb on filling out the 2010 basketball roster. The big targets out there for UK are still Terrence Jones and C.J. Leslie and they both are visiting other schools this weekend.

TERRENCE JONES – Jones is spending his Sunday in Kansas visiting the Jayhawks. I know that a lot of Kentucky fans are concerned about Kansas swooping in and nabbing Jones from Kentucky, but I don’t know how serious the visit is, especially since his mother is not along for the visit. You would think that if Kansas was a serious contender, his mom would be along for the visit. She has recently said that Kansas coaches had not talked to her in recent weeks.

Terrence will be picking a school on Friday, and as of now, he has a final list of Washington, Oregon, UCLA, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Kansas. The announcement should be something as an event as Jones has said he wants to make his announcement with Terrence Ross and two other high school team mates. Washington is expected to make a strong push for Jones and an Oregon Ducks team (with new coach Dana Altman) team will make a hometown push. Common sense money says Kentucky, but there seem to be a lot of elements tugging to keep Jones in the west.

C.J. LESLIE – C.J. has spent this weekend making an official visit to UConn and seems to be the biggest wildcard out of all of the recruits remaining. He likes UK obviously, but you wonder if he is going to wait to see where Terrence Jones will go. Leslie still insists there is not a leader between Kentucky, NC State, and UConn but you get the feeling that UConn is not a factor.

Leslie has had a relationship with NC State coach Sidney Lowe for about 4-5 years and that may be a factor, but Kentucky has relationships as well. He was a former teammate with John Wall and he has developed a close friendship with Brandon Knight and he is still considering following Knight to Kentucky. Leslie has said that he and Knight are text buddies and they text at least every other day. As of now, it looks like Terrence Jones destination is the biggest factor in where Leslie goes.

TERRENCE ROSS – Ross is taking a visit to Washington today, and according to his facebook page, he is hinting that he will become a Huskie. There has not been a lot of buzz about Ross to UK lately, but he is scheduled to announce on Friday, with Jones.

MARCUS THORNTON – The former Clemson commit has finished his in home visits with the seven schools (Kentucky, Texas, Alabama, UGA, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Michigan) on his list and will begin the process of trimming school this week. He still plans to take visits to all his leaders and plans a decision around the third week of May.

JARROD POLSON – According to Jody Demling, West Jessamine PG Jarrod Polson has been offered a preferred walk on position at Kentucky. As we recall, Polson did a few scrimmages with the remaining Cats to see if Calipari wanted to make an offer. While this is expected to be a non scholarship offer, there may be years where Polson could get a one year scholarship if they are available.
