Recruiting Update: Luke Cothron eliminates UK; Marquis Teague delays decision

2010 PF Luke Cothron eliminated UK from his list today, and is left with Auburn, Alabama, and Marquette on his list. His decision to leave NC State recently left the Wolfpack without a big man, leaving the possibilty of UK recruit CJ Leslie of taking his place. Both players- Raleigh natives- have looked at NC State but it seems as if Cothron was never comfortable there. Leslie was considered a UK lock as recent as February but with the decommitment of Cothron and Terrence Jones seriously considering the Cats, it leaves Leslie with an important decision to make. The more time he delays on his decision, the worse it looks for UK. Instead of Cothron, Leslie, or both playing at UK, Calipari better have a Plan C in mind.

In other news, Evan Daniels from Scout.com reported that 2011 G Marquis Teague has yet again delayed his decision. He was expected to make a sudden announcement this weekend at the Boo Williams, but now it is not known when he will make that decision. He was originally thought to be Louisville lean, but over time it seems like that is not so much the case. Calipari and the Cats have been in the running for Teague since this past summer and he has been holding off his decision ever since. Then again, he has put off about the same amount of visits to Lexington this season. It looked as if with Pitino’s recent contract extension, Teague was all but a lock to the Cards. The longer it takes for him, the more dangerous UK’s 2011 class looks to become and the more dangerous the situation in Louisville becomes for Pitino.
