Inside the Numbers: Stacked NBA Draft Classes

On Thursday, June 24th at Madison Square Garden at 7 p.m. the 2010 NBA Draft officially kicks off. As many of you already know, it is more than likely that the University of Kentucky will be well represented in the draft, with a possibility of 5 players being drafted in total, and at least 3 drafted in the 1st round. That got me to thinking about previous drafts in which a single school had at least 3 players drafted in the 1st round or 5 players drafted in total. For the 5 players drafted in total, I only went back to 1989 because that was the 1st draft to have only 2 rounds, and it’s been that way ever since. Here is what I found:
