Happy New Years from the Wildcat Blue Blog Family

by Paul Jordan

Yes, it’s us. We’re that awkward family down the street that you avert your eyes from when you see us coming. Actually … we’re not that bad … and we are still kind of new as a family so there are sure to be uncomfortable growing pains… but we will do our best to bring you Wildcat football and basketball news in a fresh and different perspective. So let’s tale a minute to welcome in 2010 and meet the Wildcat Blue Blog crew…

PAUL JORDAN

Actually the founder and creator of this here site. Was so inspired by the Calipari hiring and Wall signing that for some odd reason decided to start a UK blog. Being in Florida, it was a good way to vent against those hated Gators and live out my childhood dream of being a sportswriter. I am a UK alum, but am outside Orlando right now, hence the “sea of orange” thing. I started this with hoping to get maybe 50 people a day to read my stuff so have been thrilled by the response we have gotten thus far.

You will find that I have pretty much drinking the Big Blue Kool-Aid and I go after anyone who messes with the Cats. I am always up for a good nerd fight with bitter Memphis sportswriters or Tebow obsessed Florida writers. I have made the decision to not cover a lot of things other blogs do carry like Billy Gillispie jokes or Karen Sypher commentaries. I try to keep it about the teams and athletes and ignore a lot of the other stuff. Each blog has their own philosophy. Among my hobbies are …. none really. This blog has consumed all my free time.

ANDREW HARDISON

Andrew is another Kentucky grad and resides somewhere in the midwest. He and I do have something else in common. Our favorite football teams have people that we probably hated ferociously in college. My Dolphin has way too much of a Big 10 feel to them with Michigan’s Chad Henne and Ohio State’s Ted Ginn Jr and Brian (brother of Mike) Hartline. Big 10 football players choke in the clutch and this is why my Dolphins are 7-8. Andrew is prone to occasional ex Vandy QB Jay Cutler (who plays for his beloved Bear’s) rants on his facebook.

Andrew has been writing occasionally for the blog the last couple of months and he brings us the great NFL and NBA updates. He will be giving us more daily posts to the blog and will help to keep you updated during the hours I am at corporate America and not allowed to blog… or smile. Andrew gets the new year off to a great start with his UK resolutions columns which are directly blow this, so scroll down and check them out.

ALAN SMITH

Alan is the puppy of the group literally and has just joined the blog the last week or so. Like me, he has the terrible geographic misfortune of being a Wildcat fan in the state of Florida. Alan is the manager of the Cypress Bay High School basketball team in Fort Lauderdale and may be attending school in the Kentucky area in the Fall so he could give us more of a local presence in Kentucky.

Alan has made a big impact in his short time on the blog as he has landed an interview with Brandon Knight and may be working on some more recruit pieces in the future. As for now, he will be the jack of all trades, helping to do whatever is needed to help the blog be successful. He especially likes 11PM phone calls from me asking if he would be happy to do a “short” midnight piece on Rich Brooks.

COREY PRICE

Corey is yet another recent UK grad and he resides in Louisville. Corey has just done one assignment thus far but he hit it out of the park. Corey will be the statistical guru for the Wildcat Blue Blog and will give us some key stat breakdowns for UK’s big opponent. If you caught the great work he did for the Music City Bowl, you will see what a great asset he will be to this site. Hopefully we will get some stats from Corey for some key SEC breakdowns.

MITCHELL JORDAN

Mitchell truly makes this a family endeavor and is yet another Wildcat fan surrounded by Gator Nation. He deserves props because even though he is a Florida native, he was brought up as a Wildcat and has won his colors well despite the recent Gator success. Mitchell now represents two generations on the blog and will provide weekly articles. It’s an added plus as it’s yet another writer that I don’t have to pay.

There you have it. Your 2010 Wildcat Blue Blog lineup. Of course, if you are a huge UK football fan and feel like you can contribute 3 articles or so a week, I would love to have you jump aboard so leave me a comment with your email and I will contact you.

Also, if you have read this far, you deserve some free stuff. I will be ordering the first batch of site bumper stickers soon, so if you want one, email me you address at PJordan32746@gmail.com and I will be happy to oblige.

That’s about it for now. Enjoy the holiday and let’s get ready to whup some Cardinals!!!
