It’s a purely indulgent post for me today, but today marks the official 6 month mark for the Wildcat Blue Blog. Yay. Happy half Anniversary to us.
It is also a good time to be humble and thank a few people for their role in making this blog what it is (whatever that may be) so far. I really don’t know what I expected when I started this endeavor 6 months ago, but the one thing I had underestimated was the amount of sheer free time it takes to properly run a blog. It’s truly a labor of love and I have new found respect for all of the fellow Wildcats who have blogs. Do check out the other fantastic blogs on the right side of the page. They are all ones that I check on a regular basis and are highly recommended. If your blog is not on the list and you want to do a link exchange, feel free to email me or comment me and I will be more than happy to oblige.
Now on to the acceptance speech portion of this post:
- First a big thanks to the 78,000 or so times the members of the Big Blue Nation have visited my humble site. I know these numbers are modest to some of the bigger blogs but when I started this, I had the idea that if I could just reach 50 other people a day, this would be worth continuing as a hobby. I am glad to say that the BBN has exceeded my expectations and I am looking to grow and make this a better site and hope you continue to follow me.
- Thanks to the other bloggers that have been gracious and shown me kindness. I think that Tru over at www.aseaofblue.com for being so patient and allowing me to post links to my site and then later, thinking of me when it comes to referring people for other assignments.
- Thanks to Greg over at www.kentuckysportsnetwork.com for allowing me to be a “preferred blogger” on his site and promote the blog there. Also a huge thanks for him supplying all the great video you see on this site.
- Also, a new partner is Randy at www.rushthecourt.net . When he was looking for a SEC correspondent, Tru at a sea of blue was quick to refer me and the rest is history. I will be posting a weekly SEC update on their site and will be live blogging the finals of the Old Spice Tournament live from courtside on Sunday for RTC.
- I also want to thank people like John Clay and Tom Leach who have been so kind as to link to my site from time to time. Being a Wildcat alum, I was well familiar with both of these guy’s work and I remember the thrill I felt the first time I saw the “Voice of the Wildcat’s” had linked to me.
- Finally a big thanks to Andrew Hardison for contributing to the blog. It’s hard enough to post one just one site and maintain it but then to write for another blog is even more time consuming. A big thanks to Andrew for all he does. And if any of you reading this want to join the status as unpaid blogger (well I have made $34.96 on google ads) please let me know. I’d be happy to have you.
- And last but not least, a big thanks to my nephew Travis for working to design the logo for the site. He has the dubious distinction of going 0-13 in the family fantasy football league two years ago and being a hated Vol fan. He did a good job on the site though and if any of you Wildcat fans are in the market for buying a boat or selling your existing boat, please check him out at www.yournewboat.com and tell him Uncle Paul sent you.
If I did miss anyone, I am sorry … but I did want to extend this big thanks to all of the BBN for making this first 6 months part of an incredible journey so far and I can’t wait to see how we grow in the future…
