Decision Day looms for Terrence Jones and Tobias Harris

The November signing period is fast approaching and it looks like a couple of big UK targets will be making their minds up in the fall, and not waiting till the spring like Brandon Knight, Josh Selby and possibly C.J Leslie are doing. Terrence Jones is a prospect that has exploded on the Wildcat’s radar recently. In really just a couple of months, Calipari has made up tremendous ground with the #3 PF and number #13 player overall. Jones was a visitor at the Blue/White game recently and recent reports have the jet setting Calipari making the cross country trip this week to visit and spend time with Jones.

KentuckySportsRadio’s Dustin Rumbaugh is one of the best recruiting analysts covering the Cats and he had the opportunity to talk with Terrence:

Terrence Jones: It was amazing. They were just showing me how much love and appreciation they had for just me being there and acknowledging me by chanting my name. Just showing me that they really care about the team. They wanted my autograph. That was real cool. I’ve never seen anything like that at any other school on any of my other visits. Yeah that was one of the things that stuck out the most.

DR: As far as seeing the team practice, I know that one of the things that you had previously spoke with me about was fitting into the right system. Did it seem like their system would fit you?

Terrence Jones: Yes. I feel like with me being a good ball handler, that’s one of my best skills, the dribble drive offense would allow me to attack the rim and be a play maker and that’s one of my best abilities.

DR: I assume that most of the schools on your list are on an even plane, but can you speak a little bit about how the visit may have improved UK’s position with you or left it the same as it was before?

Terrence Jones: Me going on all the visits I feel that it brings up each school in its own way because it makes me see one different thing that I didn’t get to see with another school. That’s the thing usually about the visits is that you actually get a hands on feeling about it. I just liked the whole experience of being at the University of Kentucky for the first time.

Among the other things learned from Jones is that he does plan to make his decision in the fall signing period. Of course he told Dustin that, and then we see how weird and varied these messages are as this writer says Jones may wait till the Spring.

Now we do know that Tobias Harris will make his decision on November 19 on ESPN-U. He has been thought to be a solid Syracuse lean, but it seems that tide may be changing a bit. Harris recently visited the Dirty Cards and his Dad, Torrell had the usual nice things to say about all of the visits thus far. He did take the time to lay some of the Syracuse lean rumors to rest as well:

“Syracuse is not the favorite, my wife and I asked him ourselves. I would say all the four schools we have visited are the favorites right now. He’s just taking it all in right now. Follow me for a second. We went on a visit to Syracuse and everything was great, then we went to Tennessee and everything was great. At Kentucky everything was great and Louisville everything was great. It’s hard to get down and make a decision about which school you want to go to when the visits go well. He’ll wait until the visits are over and make a decision. All the schools are great. I feel comfortable with all seven schools on his list.”
