There has been a lot of buzz around Dominique Hawkins. The former Kentucky Basketball guard is getting looks from all different directions.

In a tweet send out by Draft Express Content, you can see a snippet of a video of one of the most impressive things you’ll see all day. Remember when the buzz around the NBA Draft Combine was of Hamidou Diallo’s vertical leap? Well, Dominique Hawkins just beat that. The former Kentucky Basketball guard recorded a 45 inch vertical leap.

What’s in the cards?

It is obvious that Hawkins is chasing his professional basketball dream as hard as he can. He is attending numerous workouts and trying to get his name out there. He finished up a workout in Los Angeles for the Lakers recently and got to meet one of the greatest players of all time, Magic Johnson. Johnson is now working within the front office of the historic franchise.

What’s funny about the Hawkins situation, is there are more and more interests in him maybe playing professional football. The option is definitely there if he gets the chance. Dominique Hawkins has made it very clear that he would prefer a career in professional basketball.

Dominique hasn’t appeared in any Mock Drafts, but he may be a surprise pick up when it comes to free agency. One shouldn’t be surprised to see Hawkins get a shot in the D-League and get some time on an NBA Summer team.

His athleticism is what is kicking the door open for all of these options with NFL teams. The Dallas Cowboys apparently crashed his workout with the Lakers. It looks like the NFL idea is real. Hawkins played safety as well as running back in high school at Madison Central in Richmond, Kentucky.
