Kentucky Basketball fans do not get to see this side of Coach John Calipari. Watch as Calipari works his magic on one of the top point guards in the class of 2018.

Kentucky Basketball head coach John Calipari is a genius when it comes to recruiting. Here, a video project made by Immanuel Quickley and family called “My View From the Top” is a documentary based on the life and career of the young five star guard. In this episode of the documentary, John Calipari pays a visit to Quickley in his home along with multiple members of his extended family. Shout out to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Nick Roush for bringing this video to the attention of the masses.

It’s easy to see what brings in the top talent every year. Coach Calipari is a smooth talking business man who knows how to hit the right spots in the hearts of his recruits. After watching this portion of the video, I found myself sitting and wondering what other coaches have to tell these kids, because I would be ready to suit up not even three seconds after he stepped out the door.

Take the time and watch the portion of the episode with Coach Cal and Joel Justus as they work the Kentucky magic on one of the country’s best prospects. (Visit starts at 22:40)

Immanuel Quickley

There has been a lot of buzz lately around Quickley. He is the only point guard in the class of 2018 who currently has an offer from Kentucky. Also, he just released his final four list of schools he is considering. Kentucky happens to be on that list. In addition to the Wildcats, Quickley lists Maryland, Miami (FL), and Kansas as his finalists for his talents.

At 6-foot-3, Quickley is rangy and quick. He can pull up from anywhere on the court. Also, he is quick off the dribble and poses a triple threat to the basket. He can dribble, drive and shoot. That’s what Kentucky Basketball fans like to see.

Quickley is a five-star point guard and is currently ranked as the sixth best point guard prospect in the country according to the 247Sports Composite. John Calipari must see something special in the young man considering his ranking. We all know that rankings hardly mean anything as it is. This kid’s got game and that’s all that matters.
