Kentucky Basketball will be dealing with adversity never seen before in the John Calipari era. How does the youth movement in Lexington translate to a national championship?

John Calipari has done the unthinkable and reeled in his best recruiting class in his tenure at Kentucky. Quite possibly, the best group of freshman, talent wise, in the history of college hoops will be making their way to Lexington to suit up for Kentucky. This Kentucky Basketball team will be young. That is the understatement of the year. Although, Kentucky’s teams in the Calipari era have never been veteran led teams, there have been some important pieces to the puzzle that included some multi-year players. This season is going to be a little different.

Coach Cal and his staff will be dealing with unfamiliar territory when it comes to this group of Wildcats. It figures, the top 10 players on the team will be freshman or sophomores. With the exception of Wenyen Gabriel and Sacha Killeya-Jones, there isn’t much to choose from on the bench for production for guys that are returning to school. This leaves Kentucky Basketball relying on extreme, unproven youth for success.

There are incredible players making their way to Lexington this summer. This team may have the chance to do the unthinkable and bring home number nine. Here’s three reasons why Kentucky Basketball will win the NCAA National Championship this season.
