Kentucky Basketball will be welcoming yet another top ranked recruiting class for next season. With a team full of freshman superstars, what can realistically be expected from this team?

First of all, let’s start off by giving some credit where it is due. John Calipari has done the unthinkable and poured some gasoline on the burning blaze that is the Kentucky Basketball program. There isn’t another team in the land that would feel as good as Kentucky fans do if their whole contributing team from the previous season is no longer with the team. With the mass exodus of NBA hopefuls along with graduates, Kentucky will only return one player who score a single point in the NCAA tournament just a few short months ago.

Kentucky made a run at the Elite Eight behind Malik Monk, De’Aaron Fox and Bam Adebayo among others. Honestly, not a lot of people had Kentucky making it as far as they did in the NCAA Tournament. Inconsistency and lack of depth hindered that Wildcat team. But, they opened many eyes in their defeat of UCLA in the Sweet Sixteen. Kentucky was a simple Luke Maye miss away from another Final Four birth.

John Calipari is reloading once again to take on the College Basketball world the best way he knows how. That’s with young, talented freshman superstars. Kevin Knox, Quade Green, PJ Washington, and Jarred Vanderbilt are priming themselves for a run at a national championship.

The question is, what are the real expectations of this team?
