With the Blue/White Spring game concluded, Kentucky Football will take part in summer workouts while gearing up for the 2017 season. Here is our projected Offensive depth chart entering the season.

Kentucky Football Spring Practice is winding to a close after Friday’s Blue/ White game. Fans are left wondering what the complete team will look like once a different color is on the opposing end. In an attempt at trying to gauge the thoughts of Mark Stoops and staff, let’s project the depth chart for the offense as the Wildcats head into the summer.

Offensive Line

Last season, the Kentucky Football offense took the SEC by storm with it’s rushing attack. While boasting one of the conference’s, best running games, the Wildcats had a very underrated offensive line. Offensive line coach, John Schlarman has his work cut out for him when it comes to filling the void left behind from Center, Jon Toth. Here is our best assumption as to who will anchor the offensive line next season:

LT-Landon Young (6-7, 305 lbs, So.)

Cole Mosier (6-6, 335 lbs, Sr.)

LG-Nick Haynes (6-3, 316 lbs, Sr.)

Logan Stenberg (6-6, 318 lbs, So.)

C- Jervontius “Bunchy” Stallings (6-3, 318 lbs, Jr.)

Drake Jackson (6-2, 302 lbs, So.)

RG-Drake Jackson (6-2, 302 lbs, So.)

Logan Stenberg (6-6, 318 lbs, So.)

RT- George Asafo-Adjei (6-5, 315 lbs, Jr.)

Kyle Meadows (6-4, 300 lbs, Sr.)

Skilled Players

Kentucky Football lost a key contributor in Boom Williams as he declared for the NFL Draft. That leaves the backfield without a the second half of the double headed monster know as “Boom and Benny”.

Benny Snell will surely return to be the feature back next season. The question is, who will be the second back that sees the most carries?

Also, the quarterback situation has gotten even better with the performance of Gunnar Hoak in the Spring Game. Is there a three headed race to the finish?

QB- Stephen Johnson (6-2, 180 lbs, Sr.)

Drew Barker (6-3, 225 lbs, Jr.)

Gunnar Hoak (6-4, 200 lbs, So.)

RB- Benny Snell (5-11, 225 lbs, So.)

Sihiem King (5-9, 172 lbs, Jr.)

AJ Rose (6-1, 200 lbs, So.)

TE- CJ Conrad (6-5, 245 lbs, Jr.)

Greg Hart (6-5, 245 lbs, Sr.)

WR- Garret Johnson (5-11, 175 lbs, Sr.)

Charles Walker (5-11, 203 lbs, Sr.)

Clevan Thomas (5-11, 190 lbs, Fr.)

WR-Tavin Richardson (6-3, 216 lbs, Jr.)

Blake Bone (6-5, 213 lbs, Sr.)

WR- Dorian Baker (6-3, 208 lbs, Sr.)

Kayaune Ross (6-6, 225 lbs, Jr.)

Repeated Success

This offensive unit should see some new faces come to fruition. Contributors in yardage and touchdowns from the wide receiver spots will be the key to the season. Everyone knows that Benny Snell is an exceptional talent and needs to be utilized. Who takes the snaps behind Snell? Is it the speedy Sihiem King or the power back AJ Rose? I think both reserves will see some time in a rotational type situation. Feeding the hot hand will be a common theme with the running game.

All eyes will be on the Quarterback competition. As Drew Barker gets healthy again, he will have something to say about that coveted SEC Starting job. Also, Stephen Johnson led this same team to its first Bowl Game appearance in since 2010. How does one lose his job after doing that?

Gunnar Hoak opened eyes during the spring game with his performance. Most people are claiming he is in competition for the number two spot behind the starter. The redshirt sophomore is talented enough to win games in the SEC. Fans can rest assured that the Quarterback depth is there. Whether or not that transitions to wins on the field, that is yet to be determined.
