Kentucky Basketball’s Next Elite Point Guard

Every fan of college hoops loves a guy who has complete control of the game. This upcoming season, Kentucky basketball fans should be drooling, anticipating the arrival of our next floor general.

Quade Green is a 6-1 point guard out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from Neumann Goretti (HS). He received 15 offers, highlighted by Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, and Villanova. Green led his team to Pennsylvania 3A state championships FOUR times. With numerous accomplishments under his belt, he was the 4th ranked point guard prospect in 2017.

What Quade Green Brings to the Table

If you’re a Kentucky fan, odds are that you know who Tyler Ulis is. You know the ability he possessed of controlling the tempo of the game, no matter the opponent. Ulis’ was the definition of a floor general, with a silky smooth mid-range jumper. Your heart is warm and fuzzy on the inside reminiscing on the good times, right?

Good news Big Blue Nation, because Quade Green has the same ability and then some. The maturity this kid shows with the ball, and the efficiency of his possessions will bring a smile to all Wildcats fans. No doubt, his ability to dictate pace and get whatever he wants is something that is rare in someone so young.

Quade Green has the capacity to stop on a dime on the break and knock down a mid-range jumper. To add on to that, his court vision and basketball I.Q. is going to put our star-jammed roster in positions to make plays.

While he’s not the tallest point guard, his tenacity on both ends of the court counteracts the height. On a team that is seemingly going to be fast break oriented, he is the perfect man to run the show. In other words, Green is a stud, no question about it, and he’s going to be my personal favorite to follow next year.

Welcome to the BBN, Quade

Green has the rare swagger that captivates anybody who meets him. This is Calipari’s favorite type of point guard, one who has a personality bigger than the game. He has already begun building chemistry with his new teammates, showing leadership from the start. Also, Green and the other recruits are even trying to add on to their squad (Kevin Knox?) seen below:

Winning the Powerade JamFest Skills Challenge, Green has displayed that he is one of the top guards in the nation. Big Blue Nation should be ecstatic about this pickup. If you have a Twitter, go follow Quade and welcome him to the family.
