During Kentucky Basketball’s game against Wichita State, KSR’s Drew Franklin recorded a video of the wife of Shockers’ head coach, Gregg Marshall. The backlash among national media has made Franklin one famous man.

In this day an age, one should really watch their actions in public. In what seemed like an emotional response to a very important athletic event, Wichita State’s Head Coach Gregg Marshall is now dealing with the consequences of the actions of his wife. During the Kentucky Basketball game in the NCAA Tournament, Marshall’s wife found herself internet famous.

Now, should this have been a national news story? Probably not.

Lynn Marshall, the wife of the Shockers’ head coach was seen cheering on her husbands team. Unfortunately, word also spread that she was intoxicated and screaming obscenities at Kentucky players as well as Coach John Calipari.

The staff at Kentucky Sports Radio do a great job at stirring up the pot when it comes to controversial stuff. Drew Franklin was simply taking in the game that happened to be interrupted with the screaming and shouting of an obnoxious fan. That fan just so happened to be the spouse of Wichita State’s Gregg Marshall.

Social Media reactions

As usual, when something crazy goes down, Twitter comes to the rescue of us all. Franklin Tweeted the video of Marshall as she was seen as being very animated throughout the game. Fans around her reported that she had been intoxicated but that hasn’t been proven.

The story goes, that Franklin tweeted the video and Marshall or someone with a connection saw it and instructed “NCAA Officials” to take it down. Franklin was instructed that he could no longer tweet about Marshall. As a responsible person does, Drew took the video down.

"“I argued but didn’t want to jeopardize my NCAA credential going forward as I cover Kentucky and the team tends to make long tournament runs each year,” -Drew Franklin"

Drew took the video down, but not after throwing shade to the rest of the college basketball world with his “the team tends to make long tournament runs each year” quote.

If anyone listens to KSR, it was apparent that no matter what, once Franklin left the arena, it was going straight back up. With that, the media has officially caught wind of the situation and has blown it way up.

Media Whirlwind

The story has made headlines all over the sports media world with the likes of Mike and Mike in the Morning, as well as The Herd, which is a show that I will choose not to promote. Bleacher Report and SB Nation covered the news as well as NBC Sports.

The scoop was even picked up by Inside Edition as well as Good Morning America. Needless to say, Drew Franklin has now become the most famous internet sensation since the “Cash Me Outside” girl.

Can you all imagine, if this was John Calipari’s wife Ellen? Shade would definitely be thrown in the direction of the Kentucky Basketball Program if this had happened with Cal. It will be interesting to find out how this thing works itself out. Needless to say, Drew is now a Legend.
