Bam Adebayo Earns SEC Freshman of The Week Honors
Bam Adebayo has been on a tear recently. His performances in the Wildcats’ two contests this week have earned the big man a special honor.
Kentucky needs Bam Adebayo to play at the top of his game. In recent contests, thats just what he has done. The North Carolina native posted back to back games with 15 rebounds. In Kentucky’s ugly win in Columbia against a struggling Missouri squad, Bam racked up 22 points along with his 15 rebounds.

In the rematch against the Florida Gators, Adebayo put in 18 points. Around the rim, the Kentucky big man has been sensational. Rebounding hasn’t been very good for the Cats this season. The bright spot has been Adebayo’s 7.7 rebounds per game average.
SEC Freshman of The Week
In recent years, Kentucky players have been the mainstay for this award. John Calipari’s teams are loaded with freshman talent. The SEC has chosen Bam for this award for the first time this season.

Kentucky has been on a six game winning streak since dropping the matchup against Florida in Gainesville. Kentucky fans would like to forget that one. In that matchup, the Gators heavily out-rebounded the Wildcats. In the rematch, however, the Cats got back on track and dominated on the boards thanks to Adebayo.
Bam has performed very well as of late, which some might say has propelled the Cats to come out on top in close wins. In two games this week, Adebayo posted a double-double in both contests. These were Bam’s fourth and fifth double-doubles of the season. This is the Bam Adebayo fans had hoped to see.

The Kentucky Wildcats are back in action on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 as they take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. This will be Senior Night for the Cats. As Kentucky honors their seniors, fans will be expecting another big game from one of their star freshman.
