John Calipari never ceases to amaze with his prowess as a recruiter. No matter how it is that he manages to get the job done, Calipari always seems to get the job done with the top high school players in the country.

One of his most impressive pulls on the 2016 recruiting trail is explosive big man Bam Adebayo.

Adebayo is something of an enigma to college basketball fans. He’s been compared to the likes of Cheick Diallo and Skal Labissiere as a player with the tools for greatness, but an absence of polish.

If there’s only one thing you need to know about Adebayo, it’s that he could be special.

ESPN ranked Adebayo as the No. 5 recruit from the class of 2016. Rivals has Adebayo at No. 7, 247Sports has him at No. 9, and DraftExpress has the incoming freshman as the No. 9 prospect in the 2017 NBA Draft.

The question is, what’s the hype about and why should you believe it?
